I am giving one star because I can't give 0! My child went to his DC since she was 7 weeks old (now 11 months). there were things I didn't like or just wasn't sure and asked questions. The other day the owner jumped down my back out do the blue and said some things to me that we're totally ridiculous and out of line. Telling me "maybe I should bring my child somewhere else" after thinking on it I called her and we had a heated convo ending with her apologizing and is "wiping the slate clean". She then proceeded to kick my child out the next day with no early warning. Packed her bags (which all of her stuff was not was not in there). And her teacher who has taken care of her since day one. Who talks crap about the owner and other parents and made comments just the day before, hands over my baby and walks away and doesn't look back. Do not trust them. They did so much more than what I can fit into this review. But it all boils down to if you can't ask questions to ANYONE at the dayacre then there's a problem!
I cannot recommend this Day Care Highly enough! The staff is extraordinary! They are all very clean, kind and professional. They really take great pride in taking wonderful care of each child that attends. I brought my preemie to Carol and Phyllis after I had a last minute crisis when the lady who was supposed to watch my baby dropped the ball last minute. The worked with me and let me get my little man into the daycare. I don't know what we would have done if we had not found them. My husband and I toured "tons" of daycare facilities. We did not find any as clean or professional as this one.
As to the comments above, I doubt this came from someone who's child actually attended this daycare. There are children from all different ethnic backgrounds at this facility. The teachers are also all from different ethnic backgrounds as well! This is a private facility and accepts no state funds. Since our time there we have seen nothing but a friendly professional attitude towards parents and their children.
Bottom line! This daycare is fabulous!!!
I was very dissapointed with the owner, she was more worried about my child's race than running a daycare! The daycare was nice and clean. however the racial tension was evident! As soon as my child and I walked in she let me know that "There was only one other BLACK child"
So BLACK PARENTS I would not recommend this daycare!!!!!
Hickory Daycare Center is nota place I would ever recommend. The lady who runs the place is very deceitful. She has torn families apart! Had children taken away from great patents, who would never harm their children, and definitely didn't deserve it. I'd recommend to stay far away! This is coming from someone who has seen this first hand.
