Description: The after-school program at P.S. 20 located at 166 Essex Street (at Houston Street) serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Each after-school class is led by a Group Leader and Group Aide who engage them in a variety of age-appropriate activities including homework help structured recreation and visual arts and activities. P.S. 20 Department of Education teachers partner with the Group Leaders on special projects that address academic enrichment research technology and test preparation. Henry Street Settlement Teaching Artists also partner with the Group Leaders on projects that extend and enrich learning and positively influence childrens social and emotional development through dance architecture storytelling music theater and visual arts.
