Giggle Bugs Early Learning Center, Llc - Millsboro DE Licensed Child Care Center

When starting this job, I was told everyone is friendly, there was no hatred, and most importantly that you are allowed to use your phone or a tablet for work or school purposes during nap time. After a month of doing this, I got written up for "texting" on their time and that if it did not stop I would be terminated. The only person who might text me during the day is my mom if there's an emergency. I don't have two and a half hours to sit and text. Other employees have made phone calls during naptime and always show each other what they see on Facebook. When starting, the lead manager and owner compared me to a stapler saying this stapler can bring just as much value to the business as I can. You do not get a pay raise for any certifications or degrees you earn. You only get a pay raise if he thinks your bringing value to the business. The employees yell at the children if they do not Kay down and remain still for two and a half hours during naptime even the infants. They are all in cliques and do not welcome new employees. They talk about parents and children all the time. One staff member left a child outside on the playground that I saw. And one staff member told a little girl she was going to call Easter bunny and Santa Claus if she didn't behave and the little girl had a meltdown. The staff continued to provoke the little girl and get other staff members to come and laugh with them. Wouldn't recommend this company for anyone. I couldn't handle seeing the cruelty much longer.

I am a staff member at Gigglebugs and I have a child that attends Gigglebugs. I have nothing but good things to say about this center! The owners main concern is to make sure that everyone's desires are met and the children are well taken care of! I have never had a job where I love going to work, but I look forward to going to Gigglebugs everyday. I love the families that attend and the staff I work with. The center has a very "at home" feeling and it is one big family! My daughter loves attending Gigglebugs and the staff take care of her, as if she is one of their own. I would give this center more stars if possible because I see what goes on behind the scenes and in the classroom. I have had nothing but positive interaction with Jenn and I would call her a friend. She is one of the most caring people I have met. She takes her job seriously and does it with heart! I would recommend to anyone to check out Gigglebugs,you will not be disappointed by any means!!

My children ages 2 and 4 have been attending Gigglebugs since they opened their doors in June 2015. I work in Millsboro and have watched the center since it began. I had met with Jenn on several occasions to discuss the center and my children attending. Over that time I came to know Jenn as an amazing woman with a vision for a center that was like no other. One that had the best intentions not only for the children who attended but also the staff. Although the weekly cost to send a children to the center is a little higher then other daycares in the area I can tell you it is more then well worth it. My childrens well being is the most important. Jenn created a center that would provide amazing safety, love, and a desire to bring children's imaginations to life. She prayed hard and long through every part of the process of the developing and growing of this center. She is a busy woman trying to make sure all needs are met by the families that send their children and the needs of her staff making sure she provides an amazing work environment. Opening a business especially one that has a purpose to care for children has a lot of responsibility. Trying to make sure all staff has the licensing needed to provide the best care and education, that the center is in compliance, making sure parents are completely satisfied. Only the people that put their heart and soul into their business know the nitty gritty of everything it takes to provide such a wonderful center. My children have learned so much since they have been attending the center. They love attending. I know my children are completely safe and if my children cannot be with me then at Gigglebugs is the only place I would rather have them be. I have just made the choice to be a stay at home mom and it has broken my heart to have to pull the boys from daycare at Gigglebugs. If I do return to work there is no doubt in my mind where they will go. If you are looking for a center that is 100% perfect then you will always be unsatisfied no matter what. If you are looking for a center that strives to meet perfection in all aspects then Gigglebugs is where you want your children to be.

GiggleBugs Early Learning Center is a quality Delaware STARS early learning program for children ages 12 months to 10 years. My husband and I take great pride and pour our hearts and souls into the children & families of this center. Prior to opening GiggleBugs in Millsboro, DE, we owned and operated three high quality centers in the eastern panhandle of WV (where my husband is from) for approximately 8 years. We moved back to Sussex County, DE (where I was born and raised) and we both knew it was our calling and passion in life to continue serving children and families so we built GiggleBugs! Within 3 months of opening GiggleBugs, the center was at capacity with an extensive waiting list for all ages. This speaks to the high satisfaction of our families. All of our staff have certificates from the Department of Education, and most are qualified even above the position they hold at the center. We use a curriculum with each age group at the center, do progress reports 3 times a year, and offer 2 parent conferences a year. Security is of the utmost importance as we built the center with live camera systems that also record to a DVR for up to 1 month. We also installed special entry doors that can only be accessed by entering a code unique to each family. We have partnered with local and state police departments whose officers have visited our facility to help us design a security plan unique to our center. These measures are NOT required by state licensing, but we made a choice to put into place these extra measures anyway. Because our center is an Early Childhood Center, we focus on early childhood (ages 12 months to 5 years) and serve approximtely 100 children ages 5 years and younger. We, therefore, have chosen to only reserve one classroom with a capacity of 15 children to serve school age children for before/after school care (and full day care in the summer and on school closing days) to assist our families who already have younger children at the center who might also have a school age child. The only concern voiced by the majority of our parents is that they wish we'd build a second site so we could accommodate more children! They do not respond kindly to security issues and feel that security in their establishment is a big concern. When an issue arises the owner then decides you no longer are welcomed at their facility. The owner has an attitude problem and feels that she can talk to parents any way she feels. Also, if you have a school aged child be prepared to play the lottery as to whether there will be room for your child if the school is closed or late or has a 1/2day. It is a first come first serve basis and if you do not rush to contact them by Facebook or text or sign in your child in a book months ahead of schedule you will need to make other arrangements with little or no time to spare.
