Friendship Montessori School

FMS is a two-room schoolhouse located in the rural town of Worton, Maryland. Tucked away between farms, our school offers a peaceful, safe, nature-filled environment for the children to explore. A Montessori teacher and her college professor husband, who wanted their own young sons’ first school to be Montessori, founded FMS in 1992. It is an independent early childhood program enrolling children ages 2-6. The school is licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education and is affiliated with the American Montessori Society. At Friendship Montessori School, we strive to create a place that inspires children to develop their innate love of leaning while building confidence, independence, and inner discipline. We are dedicated to providing an enriching and challenging educational environment where each child is encouraged to grow to his or her fullest potential academically, emotionally, and socially. The child’s experience is richer when parents and family become a part of the school community. Through this dynamic partnership of child, family, and school, a framework for learning is created which offers all of us an “education for life.”
