Description: The Great Start Readiness Program is funded through a state grant and is free to qualifying Flushing children who are four years of age by November 1st, 2013. Children qualify for the program on the basis of eight state-identified factors and/or income guidelines. The class meets Monday through Thursday at Seymour Elementary. The program uses the Creative Curriculum approach to classroom scheduling and activities.
Bussing is available for students. Regular student attendance is an important factor of the program, as is parent involvement. Parents are required to volunteer in the classroom once a month and be available for home visits and parent-teacher conferences. The program is currently funded for four classes. Please contact Catrina Wiskur 810-591-5596 for more information.
