Description:
Yes, we are open for enrollment during the pandemic. Masks are worn by teachers and children 3 years and up. The childcare center is a ministry of The First Presbyterian Church. In April of 1991 the process began with the Department of Welfare to open our childcare center and school. So began the journey that has lasted almost 30 school years and hundreds of wonderful children. God has blessed us with so many wonderful people on our staff. In the fall of 1997, we started a full day kindergarten program. Parents have signed up their children early to be sure they have a place in the class. Together, stepping out in faith we have seen so many blessings! Unfortunately we have had to close our Kindergarten since many of the nearby school districts have gone to full day for them.
Through this30 year ministry, many children have passed through our doors, being taught the love of Jesus. How quickly time passes; our first babies are now in college. Preparing our children for the future is an important part of our program. Nurture of their spiritual and educational growth is an important goal. Bible stories and music are part of our daily activities. Building a foundation for reading becomes ever more important as much research has determined the earlier reading readiness begins the better. Our Pre-Kindergarten class is blessed to have the opportunity to pray and read the Bible in classl as well as learning skills for Kindergarten success.
We have now added a class for virtual learners and hybrid learners for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. We will continue to offer Before and After Care for Elementary School children once they are allowed back in the schools.
