I wish I could express the pain this place brought my son and my family. After six months of having my then 2.5/3 year old son at near full time care at Fabian House, his behavior started regressing. He started having panic attacks, emotionally withdrawing, and having anger outbursts. The staff kept pressing that he had autism, even though they had no credentials to do so. They already had him on a “behavior plan” which added $60/day then upon insisting he would need a 1:1 aid, we would be paying them near $2,000 a month. Something was off and we knew it. We pulled him out, and all the secrets came out. He was being abused. Screamed at, left alone for 40+ minutes at a time, intentionally discluded from activities, and constantly verbally insulted. We called DCFS/CPS, and not only did they take a report, they OPENED A CASE. We learned they had MANY other active DCFS cases against them, for citations for full blown physical abuse.
He’s been in therapy now for 8+ months and I’m just now feeling like we have him back. It has been a parents worst nightmare. I am begging you, please stay away. Please, please protect your children. It will be a trauma that haunts me forever. And - he doesn’t have autism. That’s just what happens when you’re a toddler being actively abused.
