Our facility serves over 200 mostly low-income children ages six weeks to five years, the most critical stage for brain architecture development. All activities are designed to prepare children to enter kindergarten engaged, healthy and socially and
emotionally ready to succeed.
The Waterville Educare site is the 12th Educare center in the nation, and the first to open in a rural environment. Its development has been praised by leading education officials as the fastest, most innovative and collaborative center project in the nation. Schools in the Educare network are dedicated to developing and implementing programming that gives at-risk children from birth to age five a foundation for success. The schools also serve as teaching and learning labs for parents, teachers, early childhood education providers and college students to increase their knowledge and skill sets. Educare Central Maine is expected to host over 750 early care providers and students annually for training either through on-site classes and workshops or via distance learning.
