Description: One of the first schools in the Eagle area was located in the village of Sunlight. Sunlight was located three miles east and two miles north of Eagle. The school was built in 1872. The first school in the Tipton Precinct was called just that, “Tipton”. A small building was constructed four miles west of Elmwood. A small amount of taxes at the county seat had been set aside and money raised by the homesteaders assisted with the construction.
