2020-01-28 | Renewal | 3270.31(e)(4)(ii) - Fire safety - 1 yr. | Compliant - Finalized |
Noncompliance Area: The file for staff person #1 and staff person #2 had fire safety training that exceeded a year between trainings. Correction Required: Staff persons shall participate, at least annually, in firesafety training conducted by a fire protection professional. Staff persons and volunteers shall receive training in maintenance of smoke detectors, the duties of facility persons during a fire drill and during a fire and the use of the facility's fire extinguishers, not including discharge of the fire suppressant agent. |
|||
Provider Response: (Contact the State Licensing Office for more
information.) In the future, all staff persons will participate annually in Fire Safety Training conducted by a fire protection professional. Our training was late because the YMCA notified us on 10-14-19 that as of 10-1-19 they were no longer processing Fire Safety Quizzes. I reach out to my inspector and he suggested called a Dave Macher. I left several messages and he did not return my calls. The Learning Tree's Fire Safety Training was not accepted by the state as it was not "on-site" training. I also tried the Penn Hills Fire Dept. and they do not do Fire Safety Training. My last resort was to call the person that does our CPR and First Aid Training and see if he knew of someone that was certified. I learned that he was certified in Fire Safety and is doing training in childcare facilities. The earliest he was able to do the training was on January 8, 2020. This is why our Fire Safety Training was late. |
