Description: Program: We encourage a safe, happy and healthy environment for playing, growing and learning. We work to facilitate the development of the necessary social skills, self-worth, confidence and independence to create the foundation for each child to continue to build on as they grow. We are very family orientated and look forward to developing lifelong relationships with the families we interact with daily. Curriculum: We offer curriculum for every age from infants to school age children. Our program uses a variety of learning experiences and activities to promote problem solving, stimulate childrens curiosities and teach positive approaches to learning. Our curriculum aligns with Vermont Early Learning Standards. We provide a learning environment that is culturally diverse and geographically meaningful to the children in our care. Our learning themes are designed to reflect the world that is relevant to them; their families and their surroundings. For example, when studying our community, we are going to learn about the jobs that their parents do, or when studying trees, we will choose maples over redwoods. Our number one goal when deciding curriculum is that it is approachable for a variety of ages and abilities, tangible, and fun! We are a Headstart and Early Headstart Partner program and we are also a qualified partner with the area public school pre-k programs. We use Ages and Stages questionnaires and Teaching Strategies to observe, record and assess children. This allows us to watch for learning opportunities, seek resources to meet childrens individual learning needs, celebrate milestones, create learning objectives and most importantly improves the quality of our interactions with parents, guardians and partner programs
