Liz is the problem. Get rid of her and hire someone who knows the true meaning of teamwork, team building, and respect.

Sorry, but she stabbed "Happy Camper" in the back also, just like she stabs everyone in the back.

I have been at Creme for a little over a year now and I absolutely love it.

There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes that parents and staff do not realize.  Unlike other schools where I have worked, rumors about the teachers do not float around.  Ms. Liz keeps it very professional and when asked about a teacher that is no longer there she gives an answer of "that person is no longer with us."  No further information after that.  Because of this, parents complain because they liked the teacher, but they have no idea what the teacher did while they were at work during the day.  Even though the person does not work out, she does not ruin their reputation.

Beyond that, there are about 35 employees and 20 of them have been there for one year or more.  Several have been there for two years and one has been there since it opened.  When a teacher does leave by choice, from what I have seen, it was from family issues, moving(we have a lot of military families on both ends), or going to continue their education.  I have not seen any employees leave because they were unhappy.

Also remember that people are more likely to complain than give praises, especially online.  We have dozens of families that have been here since the center opened four years ago.  We have also had families that have left to go to a different center (usually because of price) and come right back.  The majority of our families leave because they are military and they are being stationed elsewhere.

Creme has an open door policy so anytime a parent has a concern, they are free to go to a director and talk about it.  The problem is then dealt with as soon as possible.  Sometimes, if there are too many complaints and a teacher is found going against policy, the teacher is dismissed, however the teacher is always given multiple chances.

As far as the violations go, we come in way less than most schools and even daycares around us.  And if we do get a violation, we correct it immediately.  We also have an action plan posted.  Last time we got 2, compared to the two closest childcare centers to us which got 5 and 8.

Ms. Liz can be a little moody sometimes, I admit, and so will she.  But the reason for her moodiness is becaus eshe feels something is unacceptable, and right then she does what she can to correct it.  Her main concern is the safety, security, health and happiness of the children.  Whoever says she does not hug children is a liar.  I walk by her office all the time and see kids running in there saying "Ms. Liz, Ms. Liz."  She loves those kids.

Usually the parents that leave do to being unhappy leave because of a teacher (who is usually let go) or becuse they are not willing to follow the policies.  If Ms. Liz sees that a family is causing turmoil between her staff and other familes, she will talk to the family and if it continues the family will be disenrolled.  For example, the facility is a nut free facility.  We had two parents leave because we would not allow them to bring peanut butter and jelly sandwiches into the building.  Another family was goint through a divore and brought teachers and other families into the situation, making a lot of people very uncomfortable.

And whoever said Ms. Liz is not degreed she is.  She has her degree in education and she has her CDA.  HEr degree is hanging on the wall in her office.

If you have questions, come in and tour and we will show you everything you need to know.  You are free to ask the teachers in the classrooms questions.  We are not trying to hide anything.  We are here because we love Creme and the kids there.

I too, am a former employee and am so glad  to be out of there. The children were wonderful and my parents great. It really is ashamed because it has the potential to be an excellent facility. Teachers are pulled from place to place and never know whether they will have a full day with their class or somebody elses class?? People leave because of the micro management, not the pay. You don't work with with children beacuse it pays well. You do it because you love kids! No freedoms for teachers to make choices about anything. Not even the songs sung in a Christmas program? You would think allowing children to watch a video on occasion would be permitted. It was more like a Military School for little ones than a daycare and preschool. Again, micromanaging...I don't know what the answers to the problems are there. I have kept in touch with all of my children and parents and see them on a regular basis. I miss the kids but those rules are for the birds. With kids everything is not always black and white...you bend a little.

The employee rating is on target.  Staff is scared to lose their jobs and the director is non-degreed and rude.  Absolutely no control over the school.

That review from the former employee is wrong.  Probably a disgruntled former employee.  In any case, Creme de la Creme is very well run and an excellent school for young children.  My daughter is in kindergarten there and she loves it.  She attended other pre-schools such as Kids of American (which is horrible).  Another local day care, Minnieland, just had a case where an employee was sodomizing a four-year old girl.  Minnieland hired a young arab male who did this.  I hope the parents sue them.

I am a former employee of Creme de la Creme and my daughter attended the center for a short 6 months. The faculity is great but the management is horrible. The executive director is rude and unorganized. She doesn't seem to be able to control the school and the turnover rate for teachers is outragous. They don't seem to be able to maintain good teachers or good directors, everyone leaves with a 6 month period. Also, if you research the school on the Virginia Department of Social Services website you will see that they have had many violations and many are complaint related.

All in all, the school is overpriced for the services that you will receive.
