I have used this provider for more than 6 months
My biggest problem is that Romie went back on several things that she said she would do, which put a strain on work and life for us. For instance she agreed to keep my son 1 hour later for only one month while my husband went out of town for work so I could pick him up. she agreed to that schedule, which is a half hour before she even closes her daycare, so it shouldn't have been a problem, or so you would think but when the time came she backed out and we had figure something else out and my husband was not able to go which obviously put him in a pinch at work. This is my 3rd kid and my oldest is 9 so I have had several providers and I have never encountered so many issues. Romie called out several times, last minute, so I in turn had to do the same. When it comes to my daycare provider I expect them to be reliable. Most often times it was when I was already en route to her house and I would get a text that said, "closing my daycare today. sorry" She is a stickler about upholding your end of the contract but does not hold herself to the same standard. In the contract it says that she would have a replacement if she ever had to call out, that never happened. She takes week long vacations and you are REQUIRED to pay her for them even though she will not be watching your child and you will have to find someone else to take care of them and of course pay that provider as well. I am like many other families with both parents working full time jobs to try and make ends meet. My son is young and to me he sustained a pretty major injury the first couple months he was there. His finger was smashed under a metal chair and it was swollen pretty bad and couldn't use it for about a week, he then lost the fingernail. He got a minor sunburn while there and I asked her about it and her response was, "well if you don't want him to get burned you should bring sunscreen." She told me she planned to have a water party that Friday and I had the sunscreen for her that day but this day was actually the Thursday before. That is neither here nor there. That to me is not a response of a caring provider. That to me is a defensive response to her lack of caring for him properly. I honestly hate this part about being a parent. It is hard enough finding someone that you trust to leave your child with from the beginning and it sucks that it is looked at as a business deal instead of raising the child together and communicating with care and concern and looking for the best interest of the child and parent relationship as well as collecting that paycheck.
