Description: The Child Education and Development Services Department has three major programs; the Child Development Center, (CDC), which serves 60 children ages three to five years old from low to moderate-income families in a day care setting; The Family Learning and Resource Center (FALREC), an early child intervention and family support drop-in program serving young Chinese families with children up to five years of age; and the School Age Center (SAC), serves children from six to 13 years old with a variety of after school educational and recreational program activities. The CDC has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) since 1997 and is currently undergoing re-accreditation, and the School Age Center is one of only three such programs in Chicago accredited by the National School Age Care Alliance (NSACA).
