Description: Central Baptist began in 1922 with a small group of dedicated Christian men and women with a desire to reach the people of Phenix City with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Since this time Central Baptist has striven under the Lordship of Jesus Christ to be a lighthouse to the lost and a hospital for the hurting in and around Phenix City. Through faithful support of local mission activities, North American missions, and International missions, Central Baptist has heeded and continues to heed the command given by Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19-20. Today, as in yester years, the impact and accomplishments of Central Baptist can only be attributed to the obedience of its faithful members, and the dedication of the pastors, which have prayerfully followed the leadership of the Holy Spirit, thus graciously allowing Central Baptist to make a difference in the life’s of those it has touched.
