She reports that she lost her temper with the child. She states she is embarassed and ashamed of herself. She states that she doesn't make inappropriate comments to children in her care. She reports that the child was aggressive in nature and had kicked her in her legs. She reports that a child was hurt (no medical attention required) on the playground and she was attempting to find out what happened, from this child and the other children. She reports that is when this child became explosive, kicking her and destroyed property. She was afraid he would hurt one of the other children and was a threat to the other children. She reports that he was screaming in her face as well. She reports that his behaviors progressed into explosive episodes that were not predictable, due to his brain injury. She reports she was not made aware of these behaviors, by the mother, until she pressed her for the information when she reported the behaviors. She states that she did tell the mother that she would need to find another daycare for the child, weeks prior to this incident. She states that the mother told her that her cousin would begin to provider childcare for the child. Provider reports she was told by the mother that the child was recently diagnosed with Psychosis, after the outburst from him and violent episode. Provider states she was not able to meet his special needs of this kind. Provider reports that she is accepting of a referral for behavior management/stress/inclusion referral. Consultant is sending the referral for Provider. Consultant informed Provider that Consultant is siting her for inappropriate discipline. Provider states she understands and is ashamed of herself. |
