The staff is great & loving to the kids but they have to get better my kids would come home with stuff that’s not there’s, they don’t answer the phone and they wanted me to send my baby there with a towel for nap time .....
If I can give no stars I would! My nephew (age 5) was show beyond scared straight videos, his hair was cut out by another student! The education level is at a 0 my nephew is in pre-k and received homework maybe 3-4 times throughout the school year! Numbers, ABC, basic sight words, or days of week was never taught! My nephew can spell his name only because his mom has taught him this school needs to get 0 stars and the state needs to pay them a visit
My child attend the Pre-k 4 program at this daycare this school yr. and the "certified teacher" didn't teach my child anything. He can not count his numbers after 10. He can't recognize any letters nor make the sound of them. The basics he need to know for kindergarten was not applied to his learning curriculum. I complained and complained about his learning. No homework to take home. I had to go out and buy work for him to so at home. April 1, 2019 was the first homework assignment sheet he came home with doe the school year. This school is all about a dollar. I had a problem with Brandy (the director daughter) who work at the daycare on 6th st in Marrero. Well ahe took it upon herself to show my 5yr old a "Scared Straight" video without my permission and as he was watching this video my son urinated himself. Not one time did Brandy think this was traumatizing to my child. I asked my child what was on the video he said, "they had police and it was scary." He also told me Brandy told him that "he will go there forever and no one will come pick him up". He is a 5yr black boy and I feel that's nothing u tell a child. I didn't get a phone call from Brandy not one time to notify me of her doing. My son couldn't sleep and didn't want to sleep in his own bed for about a week. I talked to her about her actions and I wanted to see what video she showed my child but til this day brandy is giving me the run around an will not show me the video. Brandy showed no concern. I been waiting since April 12th for the video. The teacher Mr. Bryant rhe Pre-k 4 teacher is only there to collect a pay check to provide for his family. Those were his words because my son hit another kid in the face. So I asked the teacher Mr. Bryant what happen that day with my son an he told me his bosses Bunny and Brandy who sign his pay checks told him NOT to discuss anything with me about my child. The kids are always left unsupervised. Friday, May 10, 2019 the Pre-k 4 students was being turned around because the teacher came to school high off "Meds" and was unable to teacher or supervise the Pre-k 4 class. Brandy talks to the children any kind of way behind closed doors. My son had a problem with a particular little boy I feel he's a problem child and I specifically asked both Brandy and Bunny in a meeting we had to keep this child away from my child. May 13, 2019 My child notified me that Brandy told him "he will nap next to this little boy forever" and on the same day my child said this little boy cut the front of his locs off. As usual they blame my son for cutting his own locs off. My child have had his locs since he was 2yrs old an I have NEVER a problem with him putting scissors to his hair. The children is always unsupervised because the teacher no one notified me that my son cut his hair. When i picked him up after school is when I noticed it. I can go on and on with the things me and my child endured this 2018-2019 school yr. The only reason he stayed at this school the whole school yr is bcuz the real school had a waiting list and in order for him to get on the list. I'll had to drop him from CandyLand and wait for an opening at another school. Which didn't make any since to me but ok. This is not a good school for young minds to attend if education is important to you but if just need a babysitter then this is the perfect place to sent your child(ren).
