About the Provider
Barn Yard Child Care Center, Inc. became incorporated July 1, 1997. After teaching three and four year olds for five years I realized that what centers lack is the feeling of home, a backyard to play in. However, today child care facilities are a necessity to assist parents. The Barn Yard fills the need parents have and provides the “back yard” that children deserve.
The Barn Yard is open 7:30-5:30, Monday – Friday. The Barn Yard serves children three months – five years. Morning drop off extends between 7:30 – 9:30 AM and there are four pick-up options for parents to choose from.
We believe each child is a unique person with an individual personality, learning style and family background. In order to grow, children need to have a positive self-image. We have experienced that a positive self-concept empowers children to take risks. The Barn Yard supports each child in his/her explorations.
We foster the social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs of children by offering challenging play where children learn by being active participants. Child centered activities, which stimulate the child’s natural creativity and desire towards mastery, promote active learning where the children are encouraged to make choices, validating them as important people. The Barn Yard provides a safe, secure and developmentally appropriate environment, which allows each child to express his/her natural curiosity about themselves and the world around them.
We perceive parents as being the most significant adults in a child’s life. We strive to create a mutual respect between parents and teachers; a partnership for the benefit of your child. When parents and teachers collaborate to provide loving, consistent boundaries children have the support needed to develop a feeling of security, success and self-confidence.
The Barn Yard provides an atmosphere that supports the growth of the whole child – the social, emotional, physical and intellectual child. We offer a child-initiated curriculum with age appropriate challenges and objectives for children three months to five years. With praise and encouragement, and safety assured, we promote active learning, allowing the children to make their own choices. Child centered activities allow children to free play, helping them to internalize and understand the world around them.
