Appletree Academy is absolutely wonderful! My son has been attending this school during summers and for after school care for two years. All of the staff are exceptional! Thank you Appletree Academy for giving my son a wonderful place to go!!!!!

Amazed to read Sue is still there. My son went there several years ago. The rudest woman ever. One thing I can say is she gave me self confidence to speak up and not tolerate being belittled. Would not recommend at all.

The teachers at this place are just fine. It is the Director(Sue) that is the disaster of this place. Like other posters have said, not only does she treat the staff like crap and talk about each and every one of them behind their backs, she also does the same things to the parents. And parents keep taking their kids out of this place and the owner(Julie) either does not seem to mind losing money or reputation, or does not care or seem to even have a clue that most of this is because of Sue. And if a child even farts, they are too sick to be there and calls a parent to come get them, but you better hope you don't work there and actually have a sick child because there will be all sorts of oh, he is fine, it is allergies or teeth or this or that so the teacher cant take off. Totally ridiculous the crap she pulls. Somebody should complain to the state that watches over daycares and also to the Department of Labor

Totally agree! According to Sue it is DCF's policy for the children to go outside. I asked for the parent handbook or the schools policy and she replied that they were laid back. Spending an hour outside is ridiculous, especially when the playgrounds turf is sand. Sue is just unprofessional and childish. She does treat her staff as if she is above them. She is disrespectful to most parents unless you either have connections or are related to someone who is high up and respected in this town. The owner is just as guilty for Sue's actions because she is never around unless she's picking up the tuition payments. Sue likes to complain about certain teachers who are doing their job, which is providing the best learning environment for her class and get praised by the parents for how much their child has learned. Call it jealousy! A good director would be proud of hearing good compliments about her staff, not for Sue. The owner, Julie and Sue say to take the children outdoors so it can be easy for the employees. Easy? A teachers job is never easy. I believe teaching children and engaging them in hands on activities is more important than running outside for an hour. Parents don't pay what they pay to have their child outdoors all the time, I've asked! The Pre-k program is really great, the teacher does a very good job of teaching the children respect. She is very organized and structured. Thank you, Ms Valerie! If you were not my child's teacher again this year she would not be there.

i DO NOT recommend you bring your child here unless you want to be disrespected and for your child to be handled in a unhealthy way. And btw who wants to be told,we don't have the staff to sit in with a sick child if you don't like it don't come.. MY CHILD GOT SICK STAYED SICK AND IS STILL SICK THANKS TO THIS SCHOOL!!! fyi you only take the child out if the weather permits it so after it rains for 3 days why in the heck are going to let them play in the wet sand with it 50 degrees outside no wonder them baby's are sick that and the lack of you letting them outside with out a jacket
