Every time I come in to get my kids it is very out of control. You have people in the office playing around talking about what I believe to be other employees and how they aren't trained completely. You can see the favoritism that office staff have for certain employees. It is very upsetting when my kids tell me how they see other teachers treating other teachers like crap. My kids have told me how one teacher likes to ague with other teachers in front of the kids and is told to stop and that teacher still does it. I am very surprised that they haven't been turned into the stat for how out of control it is there .There is one lady who works in the front who is very disrespectful when talking to teacher who aren't her favorite teachers .
Very unprofessional it is really bad. Something needs to be done about it
Both my daughters went to this daycare for about 2 years. I would have given it a negative star if that was an option. The majority of the staff their are rude and disrespectful to myself as the parent and to the kids. I've witnessed Ivonne (teacher to the 5 year olds) get really loud and aggressive with the kids on multiple occasions. I've addressed my concerns to the director (Holly Ertmann) and she said she'll talk to her about it and that was that. No follow up, no change in behavior from Ivonne. I've been told from both my daughters and my niece who also goes there that Ivonne pulls the kids arms in an aggressive matter and kids have no reason to make something up like that. Ivonne will tell the kids to sit still and be quite for 15+ minutes and puts them in timeout and get them written up if they don't follow her rediculous demands. Holly is one of the worst daycare directors I've ever dealt with. Lazy is the first word that comes to mind, she doesn't care about anyone but herself and the money. Along side with her assistant Jenna. They both push back on all my concerns and make it sound like it's not them, it's not their care center, it's not their staff, it's my kids which is absurd considering my girls don't have these issues anywhere else we've gone (daycare and school)
They give me incident reports weeks later and expect me to address it with my kids but when my girls are hurt, I have to ask for a report. There was a time when I had to ask 4 different times and 3 different staff about one regarding my daughter's scraped knee, and no one could figure out what happened until about 2 weeks later, finally someone wrote one up. The cameras are good for nothing, Holly hides back there and eats all day long not returning my phone calls or emails until I bring it up in person.
They gave me my annual forms to fill out on a Friday, I paid my tuition online that weekend and went in on the following Thursday to bring my daughter in and they turned me away unless I brought the forms. I pleaded with them to let my daughter stay while I was already there, (keep in mind we haven't there since the Friday night she gave me the forms) they gave me the option to pay for a new packet to fill out right then and there or go back home and bring the forms. I already had the forms filled out and promised I would bring it when I pick up my daughters and both Holly & Jenna were loudly telling me no, they couldn't do that. me and my daughter were turned away. The last day we were there was the day she handed me the forms, waiting a few hours for me to get the forms was apparently an issue for them. They blame everything on corporate but yet won't give you their number and thei website only gives you an email and routes you back to Holly. Their a bunch of bullies that take advantage of the system, treat parents & kids like garbage and money hungry. Holly's daughter ( I think she's 12 years old) helps the staff out by being super aggressive with the kids, instead of telling the kids to go somewhere, she yanks these kids arms to where she wants them to go. I saw her do it to my own daughter and had to tell her to use her gentle hands, her mom "Holly" told her to go to the school age classroom instead of addressing her action. Don't be fooled by their "Clear" track record under their licenses, they pay to have the incidents and complaints removed. Save your money and go somewhere else, this place is horrible.
My children have attended this facility for 5 years they absolutely love their teachers. It is a very clean and well kept. I appreciate the communication from the kindergarten teacher. I have had a few minor complaints but the red headed director has handled them and had great follow up with me and my husband. I would refer anyone who is looking for a clean loving place for their children to take a tour a judge for themselves
When I was researching day cares I saw a couple of negative posts. Realizing that every company is going to have a bad seed client and considering the number of clients this company has enrolled; I went to see for myself the facilities and I was impressed. Now that we have been there for 6 months, I want to post a POSITIVE review.
My children and I have enjoyed ABC Great Beginnings in Jordan Landing. They have a good curriculum for teaching my 3-5 year old child. The lessons are displayed every week for my review. My child enjoys plenty of toys and activities throughout the day. My 6-8 year old has enjoyed the monitored freedom in the class. They have provided many art and craft projects, games, puzzles and books. My 11+ child is offered a study group with supervision and also enjoys the same activities. My kids think the teachers and staff members are fun, creative and helpful. I feel many times the staff has gone above and beyond to make sure my child is where they are suppose to be. Calling me to confirm if they suppose to be on the bus or not because I forgot to update the list. My older child is offered to be a classroom aid where she can help with younger kids or helps with cleaning. I think it teaches my child important life skills.
Every class has outdoor time with a large gated area. The food program is nice, they prepare a good variety of foods in a balanced diet. Wheat breads, fruit , veggies, low fat dairy and protein. Once a week a cookie. Breakfasts include cereals muffins and cinnamon rolls with fruit and low fat milk.
ABC has done whatever they can to put my school age kid to work taking care of the 2 year olds. she has been left behind by their buses, and when there was nearly an amber alert filed because she walked home, they blamed her, despite the bus driver admittedly not picking up the kids for over a half hour after school closing in a snow storm. She is consistantly late for school although she is dropped off by their buses. My daughter complains that they make her clean the empty class rooms and tickle the 2 year olds' backs during naptime when she is off track. When confronted about any issues, management, including miss Tara and Rhonda, deflect and claim they have no record of these things. There have been several instances where they have been in direct violation of the state health department's rules and regulations regarding the care and actions regarding health issues with one of my children. I have 5 kids attending this daycare, and the owner, who, based on ABC's website, wishes to remain anonymous (His name is Johnny Anderson, he is a member of the Utah State House of Representatives)has avoided my calls and emails, as well as facebook messages to his personal and campaign sites, and a message left on his campaign webiste vote4johnny.com.
