This is what happened to my child (see photo) because Brookland Daycare Teachers decided it was a good idea to allow a bunch of freshly walking babies to play on a concrete pad (patio). Then because my husband asked them "Why did they allow this to happen" they told him today would be my daughter's last day.
After my husband told me what happened I called and spoke with the Director and she told me that my husband blamed them for what happened to our daughter until she pointed out it was an accident then he agreed with her "Accidents happen" and then told her "My daughter is not to be allowed to play on concrete", because of this and two other "incidents" she (The Director) has decided the Brookland is not a good fit for my family.
I asked her what other incidents and she said the first one was
when my husband noticed there were 12 children and only 2 teachers, so he asked if they were within ratio (because he is a concerned parent). They told him they were the state allows a ratio of 12:2 and he left it alone. The other "incident" was yesterday when I called because my husband told me that again my daughter was sent home with a full bottle after we asked them multiple times to make sure they give it to her at nap time and because her water bottle was left in a different room. The water situation was concerning because when my husband gave our daughter the water at pick up she snatched it from him taking huge gulps as if she hadn't had anything to drink.
I said to the Director "So we are being punished for being concerned parents and asking questions?"
The Director said "I did not say that. Your husband accused us of allowing it to happen, we took offense to that and your husband. I have a lot of pride in our facility and my staff."
I asked "Did my husband yell at y'all",
"No, he did not",
"Did my husband swear at y'all or call you names",
"No, he didn't. He was just very stern and it intimidated my staff" "So we are being kicked out because my husband was rightfully upset about our daughter being injured on your watch and for asking questions?"
She responded, "I just do not think we are the right fit for your family."
I then asked her if she could at least give us the same two-week notice that we would be required to give her so we could find another daycare, but she refused. I pleaded with her telling her my husband and I both have full-time jobs and we do not have another option during the day, but she still refused. I was pretty frustrated and hung up on her at that point.
Don't enroll your children at Brookland, they are not their priority.

Hands down the best center in Greenville! My sons have been at Brookland for almost 2 years and we wouldn’t want them anywhere else. The teachers and office staff are all very professional and provide a loving, caring environment for my sons. They genuinely treat each child as their own. We love Brookland!
Being a very picky grandmother and former educator, I visited every childcare center in Greenville. I decided upon Brookland Learning Center. They we’re exactly what I was looking for (and wonderful teaching methods). I would highly recommend Brookland to anyone looking for childcare!
Highly recommend! My wife and I finally found a place that meets our sons needs! After bouncing around a few centers in town we finally landed at Brookland and so glad that we did. My son loves his teacher and they are great with him. He looks forward to going to school each day. He is learning new things and we love hearing him sing songs he has learned at school. Management is great and always helpful when needed. This center does an excellent job of communicating with the families. We are thrilled to have our son here and plan to stay until he is too old to attend!
Best child care center ever! We have used other centers in the past and none met our standards the way that Brookland Learning Center does. Great parent/teacher communication, office staff is very friendly and helpful. My child loves it here, we wouldn't think about going anywhere else.
Love, love, love this school! We recently moved from Colorado to Greenville and we were afraid to put our duaghter in daycare. EVERYONE at Brookland is so friendly and helpful. We love the front office staff and our daughter's teachers. We were put to ease right away! My daughter even talks about her teachers on the weekends. Thank you Brookland for being such a great place!
Wow! Prime example of DO NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET! My child started at BLC when she was 18 months and is now in Pre-K. My youngest started this August in a toddler classroom. I am constantly amazed by the staff and how they work with the children. Anytime I've needed the owners they have never been rude and are always more than willing to help. The office staff are always great and treat everyone like family. The owners are also on-site daily (no other school in Greenville can say that). As for money, we pay on time and have never had a problem. I have seen parents upset because "the school cashed their check." Well, if pay your bill on time there are no late fees! Has my children ever had bumps and bruises? Very few. I, however, am not over-the-top about every little scratch or bump. My child currently has stitches from falling while under my watchful eye! The teachers are always active and supervising the children. Supervision has never been a concern for me. As for the child that was bitten - he was a bully! The other children were sick of being pushed, hit, having their snack/lunch and toys taken from them. He was moved into my child's class after a few weeks of school (they are a bit older) and that didn't help. He still continued to bully. I personally watched him shove two children to the ground and push a third (who bit him on the back) so he could be in the front of the group! The teacher was changing my child's diaper and singing with the group (keeping an eye on everyone) when he came barreling through. I'm glad life is better where they are at because it is certainly better with them gone! We LOVE BLC and would not go anywhere else!
It looks great on the outside, but I had continual problems with the staff paying adequate attention to my 2-year old. Too many bumps and bruises. Went to another local pre-school and life is better.
Worst daycare looks nice inside and out but worst experiance ever they are bad about money. the owners are rude and my child was hurt by other kids 3 times a week and they did nothing I talked to the owner and nothing was done and told it happens and that I would fill out accidentrelports alot. Do not take your child here. I left today and the church daycare in greenville way better
