Description: Our aim at Mount Desert Nursery School is to provide a high quality integrated early education and childcare service. We care for children ages 2 ½ to school age whose families live or work in the Town of Mount Desert, Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor and surrounding communities in Hancock County. We provide a rich, developmentally appropriate curriculum in a fun, safe and caring environment. Our program encourages and assists children to increase independence, develop self-confidence, relate respectfully with people and promotes a growing awareness of their world. Independent daily living skills focus on physical coordination and growth, emotional expression and communication, social interactions and group participation. Our daily schedule includes a balance of play and rest, indoor and outdoor time and activities led by teachers and those chosen by children.
