My child attended Headstart last school year, and we didn't have any problems. This year has been a disaster! My child kept coming home from school very upset, and moody. My Childs behavior changed, and kept having meltdowns anytime we talked about going to school, and I felt like something wasn't right. My child also started to be bullied by a boy in class, and I mentioned my concerns to the school several times, and nothing was resolved. I thought maybe it was that, and having trouble adjusting. I usually check in once a day to see how my child was doing with the family advocate worker at the time. I then got a private message on facebook saying my Childs teacher, teachers assistant, and the family advocate were no longer employed. I was told by one of the 3 that she quit because of several accusations made against the 3 of them, and the more questions I asked the more things didn't make sense. There have been a few rumors about abuse at the Alvarado Center. I was not even notified about the changes, all 3 workers were involved with my child daily and now all 3 were gone. Within days, after the 3 quit their jobs, my child's behavior immediately changed, and was no longer getting upset at drop off, and was happy at pick up. Which raised some concerns, I contacted the school and they said everything was fine and my child was safe, but a found out a lot of security measures had been lied about as well. Shortly after all this happened the school kept shutting down, and has currently been shut down for months with little communication, and with no warning to the parents to find other childcare. The center was forced to close down due to all the staff quitting, one after the other. Which also raised a red flag. I recently spoke with the school this week, and they still are giving little information but wanted to know if my child would be coming back to school and that they had one class open. Frustrated by the lack of communication for the last several months, I wasn't even aware the school opened, I was then told they only have 1 class and will open the 2nd class soon but could not give me any kind of time frame. The new family advocate is horrible at her job, rude, and very judgmental, I am always very stressed and upset after every conversation with her. I will be with drawling my child immediately due to concerns of child abuse at the center, and concerned as to why all of the staff is quitting, ( is not because of covid ), and that the school seems very chaotic, and unorganized.
