I have to commend the great care my child has received at this day care center since these turbulent times of safety and the amount of precautions we all had to keep up with to keep our children healthy and safe. THe teachers kept up with the care of my kid and I was grateful for some safe interactions my child could have that I was craving for while at home.
Very poor...very high turn-over rate with the classroom teachers. They tell you that they use the G.E.L.D.S. curriculum (bright from the start). They don't teach the toddlers anything, because they can never keep a teacher there long enough to get the curriculum together. If the turn over rate is so high, I know for a fact that the teachers are not certified (as required by Bright From the Start and the state of Georgia and promised by the used-to-be director,Cindy). The front desk workers Candy and Cindy are rude and only speak to you if they feel like it. No customer service. Now, they have a new director. Her name is Lisa and she is very unprofessional. She speaks when she feels like it too. I walked in to pick up my children the other day and I over heard a phone conversation that she was having. I heard her say that they never leave kids in the car, so she didn't know what they were talking about. She said that they must've been crazy. Instead of her having that conversation in her office, she chose to have it at the front desk where parents and children could hear. On top of that, myself along with other parents were charged a late fee of $20 and an additional $1 per minute. My late fees had totaled to be over $400 for a situation that the center told me that they would help me out with. My car had been stolen and I had to get my niece to pick my children up. My niece didn't get off until 6:30 pm and she had to go from Stone Mountain to East Atlanta. That's not right down the street. Instead of the center upholding their part of the agreement; they charged me anyway! The workers were still there and didn't leave until after 7pm!! I understand the late fees and whatnot, but since the center understood my situation and knew what was going on; they should have been more Christian like and helped me out like they said that they would do. My son smells like pee and poo when I pick him up. He is allergic to seafood, so on the days that they serve seafood he gets a cold sandwich (which he does not eat )instead of an alternate hot food option like I was promised. Sometimes they tell me to bring pull ups and wipes and sometimes they don't. When the morning teacher realizes that he is out of pull ups, they wanna call me at work asking me to bring him some, when the evening teacher should have told me the day before. I check his cubby everyday now. At one point, they asked me to bring pull ups just about every day! I told the new teacher that I had just brought in 5 pull ups and a new pack of wipes the day before. She told me that she didn't look and it was her fault....okay....The time before that, my son's shorts and his pull up was on backwards!!! Once again...she told me that it was her fault....okay...He smelled like pee and poo and had boogers all in and on his face. I am seeking childcare for my son as we speak and before/after care for my daughter. I pray that I find what I am looking for.
