I have used this provider for more than 6 months

I choose Tender Times in Janesville bc it was open, colorful and the children seeemed happy. I have worked daycare and know things aren't always as they seem but in this case they were. My daughter started at 17 months and just graduated out at 5yr. I love that Tami's has a 1's rm bc those almost toddlers are too advanced for the nursery but not ready for toddler 2's. I love that there was a core set of veteran staff that greeted my daughter with hugs and kisses almost EVERY MORNING. They adopted DoJo class app which gave me great pics and updates and an easy way to communicate with her teachers. The only reason for the 4 rating is the inconsistancy in "preschool" format. Not bc they didn't try but due to staffing shortages(C-19 did not help) this wad the 1st thing cut. So as my child turned 5 she was getting bored but still loved to go. EVERY NIGHT she was hugged and told she was loved and would be missed. This daycare felt more like the in home daycare my other chdren went too! I would totally recommend Tender Times in Janesville to anyone.

I would highly recommend this daycare for your littles. My boys have been going since they were an infant and now they are 5 and 3. The teachers are absolutely amazing and my boys love them all.

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

My boys have gone to Tami’s Tender Times for almost 4 years! We switched to Tami’s when my youngest (now 4) was 5 months old because of issues at a different provider. They went from hating daycare and crying at drop off at the our old daycare to running inside Tami’s without a goodbye because they are so excited to be there. Both my boys love the staff. My oldest who’s now in kindergarten still asks to go when he doesn’t have school. They have been especially helpful in my youngest sons development! We are super grateful to be able to have the staff love our kids as much as we do.

I am an employee

I have worked for Tami’s Tender Times for 5 1/2 years and been a teacher for about 30 years. The owners and director have always been very supportive of me. They have helped me grow as a teacher and a person. Every daycare has issues. You cannot please everyone all of the time. They is no perfect daycare. They work with families on situations when they need help. They are very understanding and caring for their families and staff. I would recommend this daycare to anyone that would like to work here or have their child come for care.

I love my job at Tami’s! It’s got such a nice small town feel that I get the opportunity to connect with all the staff and students. For the students, it has such a nice at home, family atmosphere making it a great place for them to spend their day!

I had my daughter at Tamis part time and I had a great experience. The daycare overall is clean and the staff is so friendly and communicated with me accordingly. I love that they utilize class dojo and I was able to see pictures of my daughter throughout the day while I was at work. My daughter always loved school days and she loved her teachers so much. I would still have my daughter there if I didn’t have a family member who has in-home daycare.

I worked at Tami's (the Milton site) for a year and loved my experiences there! The other staff were always very welcoming and understanding when requesting time off and made coming to work enjoyable, along with the amazing families and kids. Every room had a structured schedule that made each of them equally as fun to work in, and the extra lengths they took to plan fun field trips and activities for the kids to do on summer break was great to be a part of. The director was always very understanding and contributed many great things to Tami's while I was there! Unfortunately, attending college full-time restricted my time available that I was able to work, but I still love to go back and visit when time allows!

If i could give this provider a 0 i would, the way this place is run is horrible, they are extremely short staffed for a reason. They yell at the kids constantly. The teacher talk about the parents in front of the children. I do not recommend, your kids will not be in good hands.

I worked at Tami’s Tender Times for about 5-6 months and it was one of the worst work experiences of my life. The owners are rude and nasty to the parents of the children at the day care. Not only is the owners rude the daughter who now runs the place is even nastier to the parents. In my 8-9 years of experience in the field have never worked at a daycare/school where I’ve seen so many children come in and out (being enrolled and than withdrawing from the program). They are also not following developmentally appropriate practices for the children at the center, therefore, there’s little to no education being enforced. The classrooms were never PROPERLY clean and sanitized and hand washing was not enforced on a consistent basis. I felt like the children were constantly sick and had really bad runny noses or diarrhea. The rooms have televisions in them that get turned on everyday. When looking for the proper daycare for your child, please look elsewhere.

Observing staff at the Milton splash pad was eye opening. The way staff yelled at children was unacceptable and I would never consider your establishment. If staff screams at children in public this way, who knows what happens when people are not around.

I worked at this daycare as an assistant teacher a 3 years ago. Very unprofessional to say at the least. I was in shock when I saw it rated at number 2 on yelp! Classroom wasn't being sanitized, children's hands not washed, schedule and activities not followed (free for all with no structure for the children), favoritism and discrimination, owner Tami was very dishonest. I stopped working there when i realized the girls in the baby room were leaving my 12 week old laying in a crib for hours while awake so they could take more breaks, and when I voiced what I was experiencing not much was done about the class I was working in. Illegal practices going on and I almost reported them and regret not doing so. Because i had told a parent about what I saw go on after I removed my children and quit, they wouldn't allow me to pick up my children's stuff I had forgotten., and spent $28 to send it in the mail because they told me if I came on the property they would call the police. The owner Tami is a bit of a wack job and sent me harassing text messages after I quit, but her husband was nice. I feel bad for him and the parents and people that work there! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DAYCARE.

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

We started at this center after an awful expereince at our prior daycare. We were promised the moon, promised our son's extra steps were not an issue. Well, from time to time we had issues, those issues were addressed immediately by the owner. We felt great about that.
We are the type of parents that will own our child's behavior, believe its important to work together, however we also need to understand behaviors when they escalate only when he is there. Many situations that were out of line by the staff, but many times we let go as we were told it was addressed and will never happen again. Our child has some extra needs, but physical and all in all simple. Over time we just felt confused by this place, by the teacher. We had a meeting that lead us to believe we were all as adults on the same page, but then found out the hard way it was all talk. We were told our son was a complete nightmare and out of control even kicked out for a day. Oh and told it was other kids too not just your son. All this by the owner. Well on the day this all occurred there were 3 adults in the room. So explain again why the children are "out of control"???
There are some amazing staff members and the director is great too, but I feel in the end this place failed my child. Empty promises. The day we left only the director was there, we never even heard from the owners, nothing. In a course of one day this milton center lost 8 kids. As I cant speak for their situations, I can only imagine. We are very hurt on how attitudes towards our son, and promised situations changed so fast in just one day.
I have made recommendations to friends as I thought at one time we found the right fit. After our final experience I will never recommend this center to anyone.

I have used this provider for less than 6 months

I would absolutely NEVER recommend this place for ANYONE! The staff is rude and inconsiderate. My daughter was bitten repeatedly and nothing was ever done about it. The atmosphere is very dark, like a cave, ALL THE TIME and not full of life like a daycare should be. There is no structure whatsoever. Their idea of an "invoice" is a post-it note with your childs first name and the balance. They lost our daughters schedule and would not allow us to bring her in that week which then put us in a bind since we both had jobs to be at. When we called to speak with the owners, the director told us we were "wasting her time" by calling. Her name is Tasha. The owners, Matt & Tami are a joke when it comes to professionalism. It makes me sick that we ever had our daughter in the care of this staff. I hope this post helps save a lot of heartache to other families considering this place.

I have used this provider for less than 6 months

If i could give zero stars I would. I am standing on the sidelines with the two lower posts.

My wife and I were late on a few payments. A post it note with a dollar amount is not an invoice. Sorry. And your organizational skills would lead me to believe that I would need a detailed summary before paying a dollar for your services.

Didn't receive my childs immunization records. YOU provided the fax number to our daughters primary physician. The words "turn your back on you" simply explains this.

We pay our bills on time and have the credit history to prove that. My child was bit several times at this facility, declined in her learning, dropped from the social butterfly she once was into something sheltered. Our child like everyone on here is our pride and joy.

While calling to get an issue resolved today, i get the response we "bend over backwards for you". YOU SHOULD. My family like everyone on here pays the bills at this organization and unfortunately pays the salaries to the ignorant and incompetent people managing the daily activity of your business. "Your wasting everyones time". I will waste the next 5 seconds of my life to inform the community and readers here that there are ten other options in Janesville and Milton, and this is the last resort.

I will not acknowledge my "happiness" here. When your wife storms into your office, late for work because your primary daycare won't accept your child, lets talk.

You should be absolutely ashamed at your business practices.

I have used this provider for less than 6 months

This daycare is one of the best I have dealt with. They have helped me while in my last semester of nursing school and flexible with hours. My children all love going and my 16 month old, that has not been in daycare before, the staff is very good with him and it only took him one day to adjust to his routine. I couldn't be happier and look forward to continue using Tami's in the years to come!

Happy Parent Jul 31, 2013

I am shocked to read the earlier posts as we have been taking our boys to Tami's Tender Times the past two years and could not be happier. Our boys LOVE their teachers and it is very obvious the feeling is mutual. Certainly when they were younger we experienced diaper rash and whatnot, but come on, that happens! Any time I've ever had a concern, I was treated professionally and kindly. I truly believe for every one bad experience there are a hundred more wonderful experiences. People are quick to complain and lash out when they are unhappy but often times fail to acknowledge and show their appreciation when they are happy. I would recommend Tami's to any of my family and friends in a heart beat! We are more than satisfied with the care they provide and feel incredibly blessed to have our boys in such a warm, loving and fun daycare center.

I don't know how you all had trouble, but my son has been going since he was a year and a half and we have loved them. He comes home fine and dandy everyday, he talks about the teachers all the time as well. I'm very sorry you have had trouble, but people need to make their own decisions on where to go based on what happens on a daily basis at that place.

If you are looking for childcare think twice about this place I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. They claim to care about your child but thats so not true. They are very quick to cut care if you are late in paying for care and will send home threating letters on your statement. Please just think twice about taking your child here you will eventually  regret it because they will turn on you in a heart beat and like the other review said will call you a liar and throw out alot of accusations about false things.

If your looking for a place to put your kids, dont look here.

*The care is shotty at best, diaper rashes and diahrea(if your kids eat their "food" program) should be expected. not to mention keep track of your diapers and wipes. Not one of my children has EVER had a blistery diaper rash untill being place in the care of Tamis tender time

*If you are a concerned parent trying to call about something you deem important you better love phone tag and like to  be ignored, and if you can get through to tami  your called a liar and told your full of s***!

*If you make a payment KEEP TRACK, they have "lost" a few of mine

Honestly you'd be better off with locking your kids in their room and getting a dog to watch them, at least the dog will show compassion
