Description: All children participate in appropriate activities throughout the day. The Day School's goal is to provide a safe, nurturing environment in which the child feels emotionally secure. This environment encourages physical, emotional and mental growth. Our belief is that children "learn through play", and we therefore provide a variety of experiences and exposures to create an atmosphere of learning. Our staff ratios are kept higher than required and the number of children in the program is kept low enough to ensure individual attention. We strive for the child to gain respect for self, others and property in a meaningful way in a warm, relaxed atmosphere, and to learn the limits of behavior reinforced by praise, as well as to gain skills to prepare for school. We also encourage the involvement of parents through volunteer time and teacher-parent conferences because we realize that they are the child's first teachers.
