OUR MISSION
The Mission of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Preschool is to provide a motivating and nurturing educational environment for young children as they develop Kindergarten readiness skills. Using a positive, faith-based developmental program, our goal is to help children of all faiths to reach his or her potential as they grow socially, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and cognitively.
OUR PHILOSOPHY OF LEARNING
We believe these early years are the building blocks of a child’s success for the future.
Our environment provides many hands on activities and allows children to creatively explore the world around them.
We provide activities and experiences which help the child develop a sense of independence, self-confidence, and self-discipline.

Connect, Seek Advice, Share Knowledge
My daughter loves her school. There is a great variety of learning activities, play time and additional services. The teachers are great!
Our daughter attended this school for three years. We were extremely happy with the teachers and programs. Very clean facility!
After re-locating from another state, I took the advice from my lifetime local hair stylist and have been so grateful for her insight and wisdom in everything Tarpon Springs, especially with her suggestion that I look into St. Nicholas preschool. I think at first I assumed I should be Greek and/or Catholic to attend but as it turns out neither is a requirement at all. The entire staff at St. Nicholas has been nothing short of absolutely wonderful. Everyone is cheerful, positive, helpful and understanding. Smiles greet you every morning when you can see their excitement for the day ahead. The teachers always treat the children with care and love.I appreciated that they welcome you whether you need care all day or you are only interested in the PVK program or anything in between. My daughter has done really well, has been learning so much and making new friends. The staff keeps learning fun and interesting by planning themes, activities and special events on a regular basis. Friday folders go home with all the children's work and artwork they have created that week. Special events and holidays are celebrated with an invitation for parents to join. Father James visits the children weekly to give a blessing and add just the right amount of Christian element to the program. The children say prayer before breakfast and lunch, which my daughter now leads at our house on a regular basis (sweetest thing I have ever heard). And get this...my little 4 yr old is teaching me the Greek language! Twice a week they get a Greek language lesson, again not an overkill, just enough to begin learning a second language. It was awesome to have her come home singing in Greek and teaching our family basic Greek words and phrases. I am very happy I found St. Nicholas and would recommend you go check it out
In the last year, the St Nicholas Preschool has made fundamental changes that have given it the edge it needed to move forward. While the exterior of the building may not be reminiscent of state-of-the-art educational institutions, the constantly increasing enrollment is indicative of the high-quality instruction taking place inside. I will be taking my son there in a couple of months (he's too young now) and hope to have more positive things to say a few more months down the road!
If you are looking for the perfect Montessori school then look no further. The director even owns a school that certifies those wishing to teach the Montessori method. I love the idea of my child learing at her own pace and style without being forced into schoolwork. Montessori is the ideal environment for her. This school is perfect!
The previous post is false and generated by a desperate woman trying to keep her job as the new director. This school has been ruined by her. Do not be fooled by bogus postings raving about how "wonderful" this school is. It has become a disaster in the past year.
St. Nicholas preschool is a gem of a school. The curriculum is a wonderful hands on curriculum taught by caring teachers who are just wonderfully kind and caring. It's hard to find a good preschool that actually understands child development and the best practices suggested by leading specialists in early childhood education. The children obvoiusly love being there with their teachers. If you have a preschooler, go visit the school. It doesn't get any better!
