Description: Southampton resident Kathleen Davis founded the Southampton Day Care Center in 1986 under the name "Fountain of Youth". Ms. Davis saw the need for safe, nurturing, low cost day care services for pre-school children of working parents. During the next fourteen years the center moved out of her home into the basement of a local church, received tax exempt status from the Department of the Treasury, and converted an overgrown vacant lot on David White's Lane into a sound and attractive building and playground. We began operation there in January of 2001 and currently have full enrollment in our day care program. Our license permits us to admit up to 30 children. We remain the only not-for-profit providers of these services in the local area. Our staff consists of two certified teachers, three teacher's aides, a part-time bookkeeper and a full-time director. The ten member Board of Directors is a diverse group of local residents all of whom are year-round residents of the area. Our clients represent a cross section of local residents. We admit children from two years to five years and offer an attractive pre-school setting while providing day care. Our hours of operation are from 7 am to 6 pm - five days per week and we are open all year.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues. Reports can also be verified with your local daycare licensing office.
