|Brief Description: The child day care center must inquire of the Office whether any person who is actively being considered for employment, and any individual or any person who is employed by an individual, corporation, partnership or association which provides goods or services to the center, and who will have the potential for regular and substantial contact with the children who are cared for by the center, is the subject of an indicated report of child abuse or maltreatment on file with the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment. Each such center may inquire of the Office whether any current staff person, or any person who is being considered for use as a volunteer or for hiring as a consultant and who has or will have the potential for regular and substantial contact with children being cared for by the center, is the subject of an indicated report of child abuse or maltreatment on file with the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment. An inquiry regarding any current staff person or volunteer may be made only once in any six month period.|
|Brief Description: In the case of medication that needs to be given on an ongoing, long-term basis, the authorization and consent forms for children under the age of 5 years of age must be reauthorized at least once every six months. Any changes in the medication authorization related to dosage, time or frequency of administration shall require a program to obtain new instructions written by the licensed authorized prescriber. All other changes to the original medication authorization require a change in the prescription.|
|Brief Description: Child day care centers must review and evaluate the backgrounds of all applicants for staff and volunteer positions with the potential for regular and substantial contact with children, except for a parent of a child enrolled in the center who is applying to be a volunteer if such parent will not be counted in determining teacher/child ratios and such parent will not be left unsupervised with children. |Brief Description: Every applicant for the position of director, teacher, or volunteer with the potential for regular and substantial contact with children after this regulation becomes effective must complete the Office-approved training pre-service or within three months of starting such position, or by September 30, 2017, whichever is later. Any director or teacher who has not completed the training, but will be completing the training within the first three months of starting such position, must not be left unsupervised with children in care until such time as the training has been completed. The person supervising the individual must have completed the Office-approved training that complies with the federal minimum health and safety pre-service training requirements.|
