During my enrollment meeting this morning I was alarmed by the lack of organization and cleanliness of Red Cupola. I'll discuss a few red flags that I saw this morning. The first red flag was seeing the daycare attendants on their phones as children played outside. As I enter the building, I saw disorganized toys scattered all about, randomly placed in boxes around different rooms. Even the "craft closet" or whatever it is was horrifying. My daughter actually picked up a dirty spatula with old dried egg all over it from a toy box. At the end of our meeting I asked for a tour, which confirmed my worries on cleanliness. The carpet had old matted food and stains in it which could have easily been cleaned up after a spill. At one point she showed me the "learning room," which had a closet door open and swim suits all over the floor. Lightly laughing she said someone must have been in the closet, as she kicked the suits back into the closet one by one with her dirty shoe. Next, we walked to the infant room where I just tried to turn a blind eye to everything. After that we went outside which was a positive experience. The outside play equipment was nice, and my daughter didn't want to leave the playground. The only red flags I had from the playground was the lack of attention to the children as I noticed three children had a runny nose and one girls' snot was dripping onto her lips. Obviously I will not be enrolling my children into that daycare.
