About the Provider

Description: Welcome to Play Laugh N’ Grow Childcare & Pre-school Center. We currently have two locations, one in Raymond, NH and our new location opening soon at 184 raymond rd, Chester, NH. Our goal is to provide a safe, happy, and nurturing environment for your child to learn and grow throughout their younger years. Our program encourages physical, emotional and intellectual development, as well as instilling a love of learning! Each classroom is bright and cheerful, with many of the essential tools to promote learning with a teacher that will nurture and guide your child to become an independent and thoughtful learner! Play Laugh N' grow is a childcare and Pre-school that was founded by Kristy and Kevin DeCesare in August of 2009. Play Laugh N' Grow provides high quality child care for children, ages 6 weeks to 6 years. We have established a developmentally appropriate curriculum for early education through programs that offer intellectually challenging experiences, and many opportunities to develop social relationships. From the moment you enter our school, its unique atmosphere is evident. Here at Play Laugh N' Grow we have created an environment where learning is a process – a series of experiences beginning the very first moment your child enters our center, whether they be six weeks old, or six years!

I am an employee

As the Director at Play, Laugh, N' Grow in Raymond I wanted to write a review to answer some questions because unfortunately we are not able to answer reviews. When you enroll in one of our 3 centers you receive a parent handbook. In the parent handbook it states which holidays we are closed for. The list of holiday closings are also sent home every January for the entire year. Any upcoming holidays that we are closed for are also listed in monthly newsletters as well as posted in the hallways.
When you enroll in the center you enroll for part time (2 or 3 days) you are locked into those days each week. On the days that your child does not attend we will fill those days with another part time child. We have state child to teacher ratios that we have to follow as well as a room capacity. For this reason we do not allow for switching of days. If for some reason we had a spot available we will gladly allow a one time switch. This unfortunately does not happen very often as all 3 of our centers are full with a waiting list.
When you enroll in the center you also sign a tuition agreement which clearly states that you are responsible for weekly tuition regardless of holidays, snow days, or any absences. It also clearly states that we do not allow switching of days. We are not a drop in center due to the fact that ratios must be maintained. Our rules are not made up as we go. They are very clearly stated in our Parent Handbook, as well as in our tuition agreement that is signed by each family. Our policies are in place so that every family knows exactly what our policies are.
Our staff in each center works very hard to ensure that each child's needs are met throughout the day. The staff in each classroom is responsible for completing weekly lesson plans for their classroom which are posted for our families to see. Our youngest infants are on their own schedule and work on age appropriate things that they are ready for, such as rolling, sitting, eating, etc. We also start working on simple sign language with our infants and toddlers. Our toddlers work on colors, shapes, sharing, verbal skills, and so much more. Each classroom gets your child ready for the next classroom. Our pre-k children are so busy getting ready for kindergarten, learning skills that will help them through their school years. Each classroom works on math skills, science skills, language skills, social skills, and so much more. Each child is also celebrated as an individual as every child learns at their own pace. We are so much more than a "daycare" center. We are an early learning facility. I for one know that the children learn so much as my own granddaughter is in the 2 year old classroom and she knows all of her colors, most of her shapes, speaks in full sentences, has manners, sings all kinds of songs, and is an extremely happy little girl.
If anyone calls with questions I am always available to answer them, unfortunately sometimes the answers are not what people want to hear. The one thing I do know is I pride myself on being extremely professional with each and every person. do not beat around the bush and I will state facts to answer questions. If I do not know an answer to a question I will tell the parent that I will find out the answer and get right back to them which I always do. When I was told that holidays are not posted in our parent handbook I told the person which page the information was located on. When I was asked why we do not allow switching of days and I explained that all other days were full I was told, "Well I'm not getting anywhere with you!" Being called heartless is extremely hurtful to myself, the owners, and the staff as each of us has helped so many different families. I know that I personally have gone to the store for forgotten supplies, including specialty formula numerous times. We have all helped out families that were victims of a fire, families that didn't have enough money to buy Christmas presents, or just families having a rough financial time. I have never in my life told a parent "good luck finding a center". I care about each and every family that is enrolled and have made some life long friends while in this field for the last 25 years, 9 years being at this facility.
When working with the public you unfortunately cannot please everyone. We have had parents that have left upset because they owe a large amount of money and we have requested payment or have had to terminate care due to non-payment. We have had parents that have left upset because they are not able to switch their child's day due to us being full on the other days. Some parents leave upset because they do not like the answer to their question. We have rules and regulations that we are required to follow as is every center in NH. When we give tours we actually highly recommend that every family logs into the state website so that they are able to look at any and all violations that any center that they are looking at may have.

I have used this provider for less than 6 months

Kristy the owner & Rachel the AD were unacceptably rude & hurtful to me. When I questioned the gray area in their policy of me paying for days the school was closed. Their response was tough , you should’ve known that before you signed up & good luck finding another daycare with openings. I kindly gave the owner my two weeks according to their policy and said I really want the two weeks so my child can have more socialization. The owner said tough we’re done. I heard through our town a lot of negative reviews about this place. Kristy threatened if I made a bad review she would sue. I was still being kind to her. She had the local sheriff called me to try to convince me it was a bad idea to give her a bad review. I’m making this review because her and her A.D. treated me so terrible . They honor their policies only when it suits them. They rejected their two weeks policy for my daughter who was there for socialization because she’s not talking yet. Caring about their children is not at all their priorities. And the behavior of her threatening me with her lawyer and calling the sheriffs is very unprofessional and shows how reactive this owner is .

My son went here for about 6 months, in that six months I really grew to love his teacher. The owner on the other hand wasn't very perfessional. I never recieved a letter telling us when picture day was when I dropped my son off they told me that today was picture day. I was a little upset because this was my son's first picture day and wanted him to be dressed overly nice. then never recieved the actual picture after asking for it a few times i just gave up. when it comes to patments I always asked for a recept after saying they would give it to me when I picked up my son, I never got it. now that I am doing taxes I recently asked for a list of the payments I made, She claimed to not having that kind of request. Again loved his teacher but all in all wasn't happy about the school. I wouldn't recommend this school at all. Unorganized, unprofessional and the owner is just dumb.
