I have used this provider for more than 6 months

Disappointed in the lack of care. Feeling uneasy when I dropped off my child. Directors who seem very fake and not caring about the children. Looking at more like a business then a wholesome place to developmentally raise a child.

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

I have had multiple issues with this school. My daughter is to start a new school in the fall, so we didn’t feel the need to pull her from PCDC for a couple months, put her in another school, only to change it again in the fall. I wanted to give my daughter stability with school. Looking back now, I wish I had just removed her from the school all together.

My daughter went half days three days a week to PCDC. My husband stayed home with her the rest of the time. Two months before my daughter would start going full time, I talked to the director to see if they would have space for her to go full time. She confirmed and said that would work out great because another kid was leaving around that time. Three weeks before, I confirmed again with the director that they knew the date that she would start full time. A week before, my husband confirmed again. The day before she was going to do her first full day, my husband starting talking to my daughter's teacher about it. The teacher said that there was no way that she could, that she wasn't aware of this, and that she doesn't have the staff in her room to handle my daughter full time. We eventually resolved the issue, but this was an insurmountable lack of communication.

One day we picked up my daughter and some kids had toys in their hands that were clearly not PCDC toys. My daughter ran up to my husband and said that it was show and tell day and that she didn't have anything. We were never told that it was going to be show and tell. I went back through all of our daily slips and never saw it once told to us. Instead of taking my daughter aside to try to find something that she could present, she was left out. I have a class picture from show and tell where every kid is holding something and smiling, while my kid has nothing, but is still smiling because she was told to smile.

During a Christmas event at the church, I left my daughter in with the class in the basement. A couple minutes later my daughter comes wandering up through the front of the church looking lost. I grabbed her and took her back to the class. The teachers hadn’t even noticed that she had been wandering around the church alone.

On a Monday I picked up my daughter and the teacher informed me that they would be learning about eating healthy for the week. Kid you not, on the summary sheet saying what they did for the day, it listed their AM Snack as Poptarts and attached to it was a permission slip request to McDonalds. I could not be any more serious. That actually happened.

They also watch TV with too much regularity. Especially during the summers. My daughter has watched multiple PG moves at this school without letting the parents know. The only way I would find out if they watched TV was if I picked her up while they were watching it, or my daughter informed me.

They have switched my daughter’s teacher’s multiple times and never informed the parents until we would walk in and new people would be in the room. That is not comforting for me as a teacher and not what a child should have to deal with on a regular basis.

They have a great playground and some amazing teachers. It's the way they operate that is very frustrating. They lack communication with the parents and with each other.
