Safe and Serious Child Care

Damn I could possibly spit fire balls right now. Overly fuming.

Back in August I was offered a transfer with a promotion from the company I work for. We were living in Texas, five hours away from SD8, at the time, but always wanted to live in or near the mountains and the transfer offer was to Colorado so we jumped on it! So now we live 12 hours away from her and have flown her in to stay for 4 days with us back in October. Before we moved, I had never looked into flights for minors (what a dumb part on my behalf right?). I paid 5 weeks in advance for her to fly alone upon October, round trip, and it cost us nearly $500. No biggy, we received a plush transfer package that easily covered it without altering any of our expenses.

Here comes Halloween and BM and I began going over Thanksgiving and Christmas. I already knew we were driving down to Texas from Colorado for Thanksgiving since it is our year, so that was taken care of. We are driving in early week and staying through the weekend and I'm using PTO to make sure we can stay long enough to spend valuable time with SD8.

We began talking of Christmas break (which is BMs year) and all of a sudden BMs mother decided they are going to come up here the week after Christmas on the 27th for vacation (which is our time) and she wants to pick up SD on the 1st to take her with them on the rest of their vacation. I expressed to BM that I was not comfortable with that since we will only get the 27th-1st when my family drives up here and it's not enough time with her. So she nicely compromised and said we could have her for Christmas too. Alright cool, I'll fly in on a round trip on the 20th, get SD from school and fly back with her which is still cheaper than her flying minor solo. Then tonight we begin discussing all of this again and I let her know about the round trip flights for SD and myself from DEN-DFW and she asks me about her flight home...Ummm BMs mom is picking her up on the 1st and keeping her for the rest of our time until they go home on the 5th so I tell her I didn't book anything. She then tells me that she'll have to figure something out as BMs mother and the rest of their family coming up are FLYING!! I had assumed they were driving. Like did they think I would meet them in DENVER (that's 3 hours away) where SD would have to fly out ON THE SAME DAY ON THE SAME FLIGHT ANYWAYS TO BE BACK FOR SCHOOL THE NEXT DAY?! I guess BMs mom thought she would meet with me on the day they fly out so i could walk SD to the same gate on the same day for her solo minor flight?! They didn't even think about SD flying back with them so BMS mother didn't even purchase her a ticket. But you bet your a** she expects me to give SD to her on the 1st for the rest of their vacation...

SO NOW I HAVE TO CALL THE AIRLINES TOMORROW TO SEE IF I CAN PURCHASE A TICKET ON THE SAME ITINERARY AS BMs MOTHER..

I COULD PUNCH A HOLE IN THE WALL FOR HOW INCONSIDERATE SOME PEOPLE ARE!

If I end up having to purchase SD8 a solo minor flight, she will not be going with BMs mother on the 1st of January and will be staying with us until the 5th..

I have been taking my daughter to Patty for over 3 years. She loved it! She's in school now. Patty and her daughter Natasha are very knowledgeable and reliable. They take excellent care of the kids.

My son has gone to Patti since he was 10 months old and he loves it. She's very knowledgeable with child development and really cares about each kid.

Safe & Serious Childcare is the best on the Western Slope, no doubt. Patty is the best provider I have ever met. The kids love going to her! They don't want to leave. She has an entire area dedicated to the kids as a cool jungle theme, they go nuts over it! Best care I have ever seen.
