Description: Welcome to the Old Deerfield Nursery School, a nonprofit half-day program for preschool children (2.9 – 5 years old). We build a warm and nurturing environment in which your child can learn and work with others. We offer a professionally designed, thematic curriculum; complete with lesson plans, assessments, progress reports, portfolios and newsletters for parents to use as a guide. Our classroom is organized into “learning environments” where children learn through hands on play and structured activities. Within the classroom, children can find the toys and materials related by theme, interest, and skills. Activities and toys can be used independently by the children, or with teacher direction, to reinforce and enrich skills and concepts. Learning environments are an excellent way to individualize the curriculum to meet the varying needs of young children. ODNS is open to all families who may benefit from our type of program regardless of race, religion, cultural heritage, national origin, political beliefs, marital status, sexual orientation, or disability. Our school is located in the beautiful village of Historic Deerfield, at the corner of Main Street and Memorial Street.
