Description: The AuSome Kids Day Program is a center-based childcare program for preschool and school age children that focuses on the unique needs of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), other related disabilities and/or challenging behaviors. The program has options for full-day, half-day, before school, after school and summer enrollment and offers a 1 staff to 3 client ratio which is crucial in maintaining a successful environment. The program is divided into age groups and follows age appropriate daily lesson plans designed specifically for the children served. The program uses positive behavior support principles and procedures, which seek to support and reinforce appropriate behavior to replace negative, problem behaviors. Staff members are trained to assist in the development of multiple skills that include, but are not limited to, functional communication, appropriate play, social interaction and self-help skills.
