We started my son here at 8 months old (in May 2020) and my daughter at 3 months old (they are now 21 mo and 6mo). We couldn't be happier with the care they have been receiving. The teachers here have treated both of my children with so much love and warmth, it is obvious from the way my son happily sprints into the center every morning, and the huge smile on my 6 month olds face everytime she sees Ms. Mo, one of her providers. There is very little turnover, and the same people have been taking care of both of my kids the entire time they have been here. They have a curriculum in which the kids are doing something new and creative every day (with music, art, dancing, sign language, stories, etc), and even though the center doesn't have its own outdoor space, they go out to the park and local playground most days. There is also a very large indoor gymnasium so all winter the kids have a lot of active space to run and play. We really felt that the quality of the providers was exceptional, and even though we got off of a waitlist at a center that was logistically easier for us and closer to home, we chose to stay with MVPELC because our kids were so happy there. They are both developmentally thriving. The manager is also very responsive and clearly cares about the children and her staff. We are moving out of state and will be very sad to leave, as it is rare to find places like this that feel like part of your family.
Horrible experience! My son cried the whole day. His teacher (2 years old room) was never smiling, she didn't come to comfort him when we arrived in the morning, sometimes didn't even say hi. When I went to pick him up, he ran so desperately to me, crying non-stop, no screaming, kind of sobbing. I decided to witness a class one day. When I arrived the kids were seating on the carpet while the teacher was holding a book that a tape-recorder was reciting while she was just turning the pages and asking the kids to keep themselves completely quiet and still (again, 2 years old class). When the book was done, she allowed the kids for free playing while she set up an activity which was "painting everyone's family", basically she called the kids one at a time, sat them at the table and gave them a brush with paint and a paper and allowed them to paint for literally 30 seconds. I decided to remove my son from this daycare after 2 weeks of torture. In the new daycare, my son was waving me goodbye with a smile in his face on the second day of attendance. I won't recommend this daycare to anyone!!! Not get full by the very charming director..
