Description: The Y's primary goal of before- and after-school child care is to provide a quality, safe place for children to go so that parents have the freedom to work or study, knowing that their children's needs are being addressed. Children have talents and skills to develop, energy to use and huge reservoirs of creativity to explore. Our flexible schedule allows each child to freely choose what he or she wants to do during this out-of-school time. School-Age Child Care can be located on-site at the YMCA, or at your child's school.

The Mt Trashmore preschool is TERRIBLE!!!! My daughter was enrolled in November and I had to pull her out recently because they call almost every day for me to pick her up for one reason or another. I had an investigation started because one of the teachers at the preschool was accused by another teacher of harming not one but 2 preschoolers (one including my daughter). They “conducted an investigation” that didn’t last long, refused to let me see camera footage, and did not suspend or fire the accused teacher even with multiple allegations. I had teachers talking bad about each other to me and telling me that they have a list of kids who they are purposely trying to kick out of the program because of “behavior”. The lack of communication is ridiculous when it comes to anything other than them calling you to pick your child up early and some of the teachers are just rude. My daughter had a terrible diaper rash after I had the investigation started so I can only assume the teacher was retaliating, she hadn’t had a diaper rash in a year. They tried to make it seem like something was wrong with my daughter mentally because she couldn’t speak as well as other students, the teachers talk bad about the director to parents, and they even fight amongst themselves and do not keep it private. The whole program is a MESS, they cannot seem to get it together. I DO NOT recommend.
