Octavia generally hires very nice assistants to help her at her daycare. Issue is, when each assistant is not present, Octavia’s very harsh towards the children she watches.
Most the children cry each morning when they see her. And she has their cereal “made” upon their arrival, which usually means she’s poured the cereal & the milk about 15 mins before their arrival, so it’s soggy and disgusting as can be.
Octavia uses passive-aggression to “train” kids (and parents) to do things at the specific times she wants them done. So, parents, be prepared to be punished if you or you’re child are not regimented or consistent (from her lens).
At the end of the day in the fall & winter, she zips the children up in their coats & parkas about an hour or two before their parents arrive from work, and makes them sit on the couch & watch TV (all sweaty & hot) until parent pick-up.
The woman is in the childcare business strictly for the money.
Again, her assistants are generally very nice ladies, but there will be times when Octavia is with the children alone.
Very, very confused why she hasn’t been charged with child abuse. It seems she usually finds new parents (who don’t understand the care she provides is substandard) and she offers super affordable rates.
Issue is I know there were other kids dealing with the same that my child was. Why the other parents allowed Octavia to scream at & harm their children the way she does, I’ll never know.
She openly tells parents she prefers watching younger kids & I think it’s because little ones can’t complain or articulate their concerns, but certainly, other people are aware what’s going on in this home daycare. :-(
She needs to install cameras for accountability.
