2020-09-28 | Renewal | 3270.32(a)/3270.192(4) - Comply with CPSL/CPSL information | Compliant - Finalized |
Noncompliance Area: A renewal inspection occurred at the facility and a review of staff files was conducted. The Child Protective Services Law(CPSL) was revised to include the requirement for the National Sex Offender Registry(NSOR) clearance effective 9/30/2019. The CPSL also states that anyone hired before 9/30/19 had until 7/1/20 to obtain this clearance. The following staff has been employed at the center before 9/30/19; Staff # 2. The amendments to the CPSL also eliminated the ability to hire staff on a provisional hire basis beginning 12/31/19. In order to continue hiring staff provisionally the legal entity was required to apply to the Department for a waiver. The legal entity did not receive the provisional hire waiver approval until 10/7/20. Staff # 3 was hired provisionally on 1/13/20 and the file did not contain an NSOR clearance until 1/14/20. The CPSL requires that mandated reporter training and clearances are updated every 60 months. Staff # 1 had mandated reporter training dated for 4/13/20 and Staff # 1 did not update the training until 4/28/20. Correction Required: The operator shall comply with the CPSL and with Chapter 3490 (relating to protective services).A facility person's record shall include a copy of requests for the criminal history record and child abuse registry clearance information, a copy of the disclosure statement and a copy of the completed clearance information required under the CPSL. In the future staff will be hired as a provisional hire as appropriate to the CPSL. The legal entity indicated several requests were made to obtain the NSOR clearance for Staff # 2 without success. The NSOR was finally received 9/10/20. All staff in the future will be hired with all appropriate clearances per CPSL. Question by Kelly (21 days ago): My daughter is 2.5 years old. She has been going to small wonder since she was 8 weeks old, they are closing Nov 1st and I wanted to see if you had any availability?
My son has been attending MMR since he was 11 weeks old, now 5. I can not say enough good things about the center. My son is never sick. The communication with parents is thorough. And he seems to be well ahead of other kids his age academically. I would absolutely recommend MMR to anyone.
Little Meadows- MMR prep was a nightmare experience for my family. The owner and management are very nice, however the child care is absolutely awful. I enrolled my 1-year old son, and withdrew him after 2 months. While he was there I had a staff member leave him in a dirty diaper (BM) while he ate breakfast, as well as multiple accident reports. Chipped teeth, bloody noses- not just run of the mill bumps and bruises. The breaking point was when we watched a teacher pull our son to the ground by his arm. When we confronted the teacher, she claimed she needed to fix his shoe. Please do NOT pull my son to the ground... ever. They’re also very inconsistent with their developmental priorities. One day he’d be sitting at the table, the next in a high chair. Very frustrating. My son has since started at another daycare- and has not received a single accident report. MMR Prep claimed my son was clumsy- clearly he was just not being watched. Avoid this place like the plague!
