Description: The philosophy of this early childhood center is based on the premise that children learn by doing, and if given stimulating, exciting and real experiences in a warm and loving environment, they will increase their awareness, develop sensitivity to themselves and others, and learn to solve problems creatively. The foundation for the curriculum is determined by the needs of the children as individuals and by the needs of the children to relate to the world with confidence. We provide a creative positive environment that allows learning and growth to be a continual successful process. The atmosphere is one of trust, care, love, acceptance, and a celebration of the uniqueness of each individual child.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues. Reports can also be verified with your local daycare licensing office.

I have known the teachers and staff at The Growing Place for over 20 years. There could not be a nicer, more devoted and sincere staff than most people and their children could ever expect to find. I had three of my children and a grand son attend school there and they all ended up in magnet schools and are all extremely successful adults My youngest is now 22. My grand son is a straight A student from first grade on (now in third). The school is accredited and has an outstanding rating with the state. I give the school a 5 star rating!
The Growing Place is a preschool that is definitely below the necessary standards that a parent deems adequate. The issues that arose in the year that my son was in VPK at the Growing Place were mainly safety issues. The playground was unsafe, the water fountain was the home of thousands of mosquitoes and regardless of the number of parents that complained, few things were fixed. The director, Maggie, shouldn't be involved with children. She is inadequately prepared to be director of a preschool, one is left wondering how she got the job. She doesn't seem to care about the students. If you must enroll your student at this school for VPK, I would highly recommend Ms. Veronica. This teacher is worth her weight in gold. She is loving, caring and so compassionate. She truly teaches and watches her kids, unlike the other teachers at the school. Not really sure what she's doing at this school. She is truly the one exception to everything negative about the growing place. My son won't be returning to the Growing Place for Kindergarten because I worry about his safety and what he will learn with the other teachers that work here. I would steer clear of this school, unless you could guarantee your child is with Ms. Veronica.
