About the Provider

Mia Piccolo Montessori was established in 2011 by Sherlly Brache and Ana Maria Hernandez, their mission is to provide students with all the tools needed to become life-long learners, happy, motivated & creative human beings. To nurture and shape the child in the Montessori philosophy. Co-Director Sherlly Brache, after finishing her bachelor's degree and having her first child, she fell in love with the Montessori system, her daughter attended various Montessori schools in Florida and internationally, but it wasn't until she trained as a Montessori teacher that she felt that most of them were lacking in some areas, what one had the other didn't have.

One of the most important aspects that the schools lacked, was the relationship between teacher and parents, parents and directors. She felt that in the education of the child their needed to be a bridge of communication between those relationships. Parents need to be informed, they need to have opportunities to be part of their child's learning.

Imagine a place where children are able to learn to work with their peers, learn self-control, learn to communicate their emotions, learn respect, peace and joy.

Where children are guided by their interests and have the opportunity to work on those interests, learn the importance of taking care of the environment, where the learning is not limited to the classroom, students work in collaboration with parents and teachers, teachers act as mentors, teachers support self-instruction, parents are part of their child's learning, where students become experts, gain self-confidence, have high levels of self-esteem, and become LEADERS in their communities.

Dr. Maria Montessori came to believe that education had a role to play in the development of world peace, she felt that children allowed to develop according to their inner laws of development would give rise to a more peaceful and enduring civilization.
