About the Provider

The Maggy Haves school is a child-centered community offering a stimulating environment geared toward success for children. With the help of supportive and creative teachers, the children learn that they can exert an influence on their circumstances and begin to feel responsible for their actions. Each child is helped to be an important member of his/her group, to care for others and the environment, and to find out what it means to be human. Our goal is not surface changes in behavior, nor the finished products your child creates. We are concerned with the processes by which your child achieves them.

Children learn by becoming involved. We do not expect children to sit, listen and learn by rote while adults pour facts into their minds. Though intellectual development is a very important part of our curriculum, we do not present a formal, structured academic approach to learning. Rather, we provide an environment for each child to feel free to experiment, investigate, try new things, make mistakes, and achieve mastery and self-discipline. A major focus of our program is helping children learn how to solve problems. Because all aspects of growth are interrelated, our curriculum considers the intellectual, physical, emotional and social development of each child.
