Do NOT send your child to this facility. The staff is very unprofessional, especially the director. My child would come home every day filthy, like they were not cleaning my child up after snacks and meals. I made a surprise visit while my child was attending during their lunch time and was in the room with my son and witnessed their "teacher" start putting children on their cots while they still had food all over their hands and faces. My child came home consistently with a sever diaper rash, so bad that it bled. When I asked the director if they were using the diaper cream I had signed a medical release form for, I could not get a straight answer from anyone; everyone was changing their stories. The director and I had a verbal contract that she violated and, this is bad on my part, but since there was no written evidence, I could not prove the verbal contract existed. When I started having problems with the facility, I was fearful of what they possibly might do to my son. I found a new daycare that worked better with my work schedule and did not want my son at Little Hands DC any longer than he had to be since I suspected some kind of neglect. I gave my notice and the last week that my child attended, the director started retaliating against me; she started tacking on late fees and trying to make me pay more, she "lost" the 6th shot record for my child that I gave her, they've "lost" several of my checks and then refused to accept my last payment to the facility but will not give me my tax information for the previous year since I owed an outstanding balance...but yet they refused to accept my last payment. I cannot stress how unprofessional these people are. There is evidence that they opened up this facility in order to care for their grandchildren, their own children and their friends children, so if you are not apart of their "group", you will get treated like an outsider. Even before I started having this many problems, I had a feeling that something was wrong when I could never get a straight answer to any of my questions, even the simplest of questions like "what did my child have for lunch today?" They post a menu on their bulletin board in their lobby area but they do not abide by it. There is a food and a drink that I asked that they need to avoid giving to my child and one day, they fed my child what I asked them not to and gave my child a drink that I asked them not to. My child is 17 months old and was always with the 6 month-12 month old children or the 6 weeks-6 month olds. My child was only with their age group a handful of times in the 5 months they were there. AVOID THIS DAYCARE!!!
I would never recommend this place to anyone. Very unprofessional! I have witnessed the children unattended several times which resulted in my child injured and no answers as to what happened. In the mornings there would be 10+ children (ages 6 weeks to grade school) with one adult in one room! The way the children were talked to, talked about, or talked around was completely wrong! I do not recommend!
