Description: Little Explorers Preschool opened in 2001 with the mission of engaging teachers, parents and children in an educational, child-centered, play-based, cooperative environment specifically designed to cultivate a child's natural excitement for learning.
We use "The Creative Curriculum" developed by Diane Trister Dodge. The curriculum is structured around a few well-defined routines and adheres to the philosophy that young children learn through play and exploration. The classroom is equipped with a variety of learning centers, including art, unit blocks, sand and water areas, table toys, dramatic play, and language and literacy. Our intention is to provide an environment conducive to learning by discovery. The daily schedule includes group time, learning center time, snack and outdoor/gross motor play times.
We aim to help our students gain positive social skills by helping each child be resourceful and able to work and play well with other children. We encourage students to be joyful, active learners who become confident and ethical citizens.

Two of my children attended Little Explorers and i am now a teacher there. If you are looking for a play-based environment for your child where they will learn while having fun, this is the place for you. Little Explorers is a cooperative preschool where parents volunteer their time in the classroom and are involved in their child's education.
