About the Provider

Description:

Little Beginners is State Licensed/CPR Certified home child care center in Grand Blanc in the Hidden Ponds Sub off of Grand Blanc Rd, between US 23 and Fenton Rd.

I specialize in child care from newborns to school age and work very closely with The Learning Curve that is right next door.    I have many years experience in the nursing field in pediatrics and child development  and provide your child/infant a nurturing and loving environment.   Little Beginners is committed to the intellectual, emotional and social development of your child.  Our integrated approach produces well rounded children. Your child will love our play based curriculum and nutritious menu.

Each baby/child will have his/her own assigned crib/cot.  No crib or cot sharing is allowed at Little Beginners.  I will have no more that two babies under 18 months of age at one time.  Little Beginners wants to make sure your baby gets all the love and attention he or she would get from mommy at home.  I also do Latch Key for school age children for Grand Blanc Reid Elementary.  Please contact me for more information on Latch Key.

I participate in the State Food Program (ACD) which is a wonderful way for me to insure that all children get healthy meals and snacks every day.  Daycare hours are flexible but normally I am open from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.  A full day is no more than a 10 hour day.   My rates are affordable and we offer full and part time, however they are full day programs only.  I enjoy my job teaching and caring for children and look forward to answering any questions that you may have.  If you are in need of child care please contact us to get more information about our program.

Our daily schedule includes preschool activities and crafts to help get your child get ready for Kindergarten and we work with your infant/toddler to develop his/or cognitive skills. We are Not "Just a Babysitter" We teach our kids social and developmental skills for his/her age group.

I just received a call from one of my moms that saw this post from Nataki. To clarify everything, she was referred to me from another provider because this child is not well behaved and the other provider did not want him. The other provider took the baby and also billed for absent hours as is allowed by the state. When enrolled for certain days and they do not come, we are allowed to bill for those days as absent. Also, pricing was discussed at the time of enrollment. She seemed to think I would wave the fee that DHS did not pay. The other provider refused to cut the price as well. I could not cut the fee and she was aware. Also, I never said I would send her anything. I had to have her removed from my home because she was threatening me. When this child was enrolled, she was told both by me and this other provider that I didn't have kids his own age enrolled, but my grandkids, ages 7 and 9, the same age as her child would be here and was here for the summer to play with him. So her statement is not true. We had many behavior problems with her child and complaints from other parents of things that this child did and said and yet we worked with this family and went above and beyond to help them with the care of this child. If you would like to confirm any of my statements, I would be happy to give you names and numbers of witnesses to the above. All the best to all, Ms. Kim

I know Nataki and she has issues. I saw this post by Nataki and have to say that per the state guidelines for DHS she is entitled to bill DHS for absent hours when a child is not present on a day that they are enrolled for. Nataki's statements are not true at all. I remember talking to Ms Kim regarding the childs absence and she stated that he was absent for 10 days without notice and she had not heard from the grandma. She stated that the grandma thought that she should only pay what DHS paid and not the remaining balance not covered by DHS. This sounds like a grandma that didn't get her way. Just want to say that Ms Kim is wonderful and honest and has a great daycare for my child as well as the others that attend her daycare and preschool program.RatingsCommentBy: Ms Kim

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

I use this daycare facility for my daughter. I don't trust many people with her but I definitly trust Kim and the facility. There has been behavioral problems with another child and they should be removed because they are the only problem child and all the other children are wonderful and my daughter loves it there. After the previous comments from one of the parents no wonder their child acts out all the time. I will always use this facility and Kim as long as they are in business.

This seems like a good place at first, but promises are made that are not fulfilled. If your child is strong willed they will not last long. Several times I picked up my child with a diaper so full it was leaking. She had numerous injuries that were written off as small accidents, but left huge bruises. We were told that she would help with potty training, but no effort was ever made. Finally we prepaid for a week and then got released because my child is "hard to handle." She kept the money we prepaid for a week and then blocked us on facebook. I would not recommend this daycare.

I have used this provider for less than 6 months

In doing a google search for my name I came a cross post that were made that regarding comments about this provider. I used her services for less than 6 months. However, I stand by every comment that I made and I have the emails and documentation to prove it should it become necessary. I feel as if I was misinformed and taken advantage of due to my lack of knowledge about child care in my attempts to get services for my grandson. I am not sure who the Melissa is that indicates that she knows me but I can assure you that I don't know anyone with that name but I do find it unethical to discuss my grandson and anything regarding us with anyone. There was never an issues with another provider. I had never attempted to take him to any other provider and there was never an issue with his behavior. However, I find it in poor taste to attack a child. As a provider you open yourself up to critic by consumers. However, to then attack the consumer for their opinion of your services is horrible. I hope to not find my name mentioned anymore but will be checking in case I need to report this. I wish you all the best.

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

My child has been going to Little Beginners for over a year and we are so very happy with the care he gets. Ms Kim has a very loving environment and my son has learned so much since he has attended. I would highly recommend Little Beginners. I read Natakis review and I have to respond. What Nataki is saying is not true at all. I witnessed the conversation and all Nataki wanted was something for nothing. She didn't want to pay out of pocket for the care of her grandchild. She wanted Ms Kim to accept DHS as payment in full. When Nataki found out that she had to pay, she threatened Ms Kim and she had to be escorted out of the daycare. I was also at the daycare when she interviewed as I was picking up my child at the same time and she was well aware of the charges what she was responsible for and I heard Ms. Kim say that she would not accept DHS payment as payment in full, that she would have to pay the difference of what was not paid by DHS. Ms Kim explained this thoroughly and Nataki agreed, she was also aware that the only 8 year olds that would be at the day care for the summer to play with her grandson was Ms Kims grandkids. Ms Kims grandkids were at the daycare everyday during the summer so Natakis grandson DID have kids to play with..

I have used this provider for less than 6 months

Ms. Kim was referred to me by someone else. They thought that she would be able to assist me with summer care for my grandson. She told me that there would be older kids for him to play with and there wasn't. She made pricing arrangements with me that she did not honor. She billed the state for more hours than my grandson attended. She continued to bill even thought he had not attended for weeks before the school year started. When I asked for copies of his attendance records she said that she would send them to me but I still don't have them. If you need care for your child/grandchild look somewhere else. Everything that shines is not gold.

Kim has been great to us. She has been more than just a caretaker to our 21 month old son. She treats each child like family. From day one she has been so supportive and accommodating. During the transition phase when my child would be anxious about me leaving him there, she was more than comforting. Her background experience and expertise give her the extra edge. She always welcomes us with a smile in her home. Don't know what we would do without her! She's taught our son so much already. We are more than pleased.
