Description: The Head Start program is a national program that promotes school readiness of low-income children by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development through the provision of health, educational, nutritional, social, family, parent involvement and other services that are determined, based on family needs assessments, to be necessary.
Head Start provides comprehensive child development services to economically disadvantaged children and families, with a special focus on helping preschoolers develop the skills they need to be successful in school. 10% of our families may be from over-income status. Head Start serves at least 10% children with disabilities.
