I have used this provider for less than 6 months

If you're looking for a daycare/preschool center with excellent care, communication, and professionalism - OAKTON KINDERCARE IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU!

I was very excited to enroll my son into an educational based program to get him a start on preparing for kindergarten next year. Your staff even could offer a phonics program for just $25/week! I knew after touring the facility, speaking with staff, and what Kindercare could offer my son I had made the right choice! However, the phonics program I then find out is no longer being offered, or is being put on hold due to lack of staff. Did KinderCare notify me? No, they did not. KinderCare continued to charge and collect money from me weekly for a service they were not providing. I found out weeks later I had been paying for services not rendered. Then the phonics teacher, which is now their new "kitchen lady" approached me in the parking lot apologizing and admitted herself I should have been notified when I was still paying for Phonics and my son was not getting it.

Additionally, I did not appreciate Emily's response when confronted about my son being at school the whole day with a fever of 102, and no phone calls or emails to me about it. As someone in charge of a daycare's operations, I am disappointed in their inability to take fault for their own lack of actions but turning it around on the mother of the child, and a client of their company's. When I mentioned the fact that he had a fever of 102 degrees when I arrived home, Emily's response was, if I were so concerned about it why didn't I email her when I got home? That is very unprofessional.

The lack of communication and staffing at this center is causing many issues that KinderCare needs to address immediately. My son urinating in his clothes, bumping his head hard enough to cause a black eye and not properly reporting it to me, fevers going unnoticed and illegally charging clients for services not rendered is happening because they are understaffed and poorly managed. These are children they are responsible for, and they need to start conducting their center that way.
