Really happy with this facility. It's very clean and they offer tours at any time. I received updates and Madria was really informative and kind. I am very happy we were able to bring my kiddo here.
My child has only been in the facility a short time and the turnover is very alarming!!!!! One morning you drop your child off and are greeted by a teacher you have gotten used to and when you arrive to pick your child up, the teacher is gone and there is a perfect stranger handling your child. Similar scenarios have occurred and you receive no notification from the director, Yolanda or her daughter, the assistant director, Qwen! The teacher/student ratio is most times out of compliance and the directors are doing nothing to rectify the situation, they are just hanging out , and the teachers are apparently fed up and walking out. Then they hire young ladies that are not displaying prior experience in the capacity that would make a parent feel comfortable leaving their child in; and are they being properly processed, i.e background checks, etc? I'm a parent that's fed up and something needs to be done and quickly!!!
Kids Village INC is running like a Headstart facility since Mrs. Karen Jacobs came as the new Center Director. She brings to the table over 25 years experience in Headstart along with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood, a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership, with 1 1/2 years left before she receives her P.H.D. in Early Childhood Education. I think she was the right fit for this program, She put your child education needs and safety first, the Early Childhood curriculum use at Kids Village is one of the best curriculum today. They serve breakfast, lunch, and snack open year round and you are always welcome to stop by to get a tour.
The new director Karen is not at all concerned with the safety of the children. Karen doesn’t have any regards to parents either. This daycare facility hasn’t been the same since Mrs Angela left.
to the upset mom why are your chikd still at kids village thank you
We would like to thank Kids Village baby room, ones, and the VPK teachers for the wonderful job you did with our son/grandson Alijah D. Phillips. you all would be so proud of him.he's made student of the week\ mounth .
The children I encounter at Kid's Village appear to me to genuinely enjoy their classmates and teachers, mine included. I appreciate the daily reports and ability to speak with each teacher regarding my child (they all interact with him-family atmosphere). I observe teachers and staff following hygienic practices, i.e.frequent hand washing(themselves and children), gloves during diaper changes and food serving, cleaning and disinfecting of toys and equipment, making sure sick children are reported and sent home accordingly. I appreciate those types of things! It is evident the children are following the curriculum outlined in each classroom, as I get to hear from my child what he got to do that day. And parents are constantly encouraged to engage with the school & children, whether its bringing in something that reflects the color/letter of the week or helping for classroom parties or arts projects, I appreciate the effort the daycare makes to engage the family. My husband and I haven't had a day yet where my child dreads going to school! I like walking into the school at any moment and the children are engaged and the classrooms are under control. That being said I feel content and happy with my child's progress and well-being while attending Kid's Village. As my mantra is to 'strive for excellence in all we do', I must address the main area I would like to see improvement, which is implementing the use of proper grammar and correct word choice in everyday speech. Yes this is the South and colloquialisms prevail but the basics of correct syntax and word choice/vocabulary spoken by teachers to one another and to children, (even just in passing) should improve as proper speech is key in future life successes. When children's' speech is incorrect, I'd like to know it is being addressed and corrected. I work in trying to instill this at home with my child and just want it further strengthened while my child is at daycare. Overall, Thank you Kid's Village, your teachers and staff are much appreciated!
this is the worst daycare ever, every time i drop off my child their are always teachers gossiping in the morning not doing anything. My child is always coming home with something wrong either its an accident report, and they can't tell you what happen or he is coming home with someone elses childs things. This daycare is horrible and i wouldn't tell anyone to take their child to this ZOO!!!!!
