I have used this provider for more than 6 months

My children attended Kid's Kingdom Early Learning Center for a few years. When Kayce ran the office, she was so friendly and inviting and made you feel that your children were safe and being taken care of and loved. When Kayce left, everything changed. I had a terrible gut feeling every single day at drop off. They let babies sleep as long as possible - even if that means face down in the crib without even 1 bottle throughout the day. Turns out that same baby had a 102.5 fever, but they never touched the baby to check to see if it was ok. During the beginning of Covid, they changed their drop off policy, which I completely understood and respected. However, they are still following the same process - not letting parents into the building (which is illegal in the state handbook). They are a "Christian Based Program" owned by a former Children's Pastor (God knew what he was doing when he changed that status to former.); however, the only "Christian" thing they do is say prayers at meal time. Other than that, they are the most un-Christian like people I have ever met. The office staff is rude and disrespectful, are rough with the children, and refused to bring my child to me at the front door when requested (during the no parent allowed inside time frame). Multiple employees were let go for questioning certain actions happening inside - 1 fired for informing a family about the recall on their formula. Miss Kayce, Miss Elizabeth, Miss Jodi, Miss Jackie, Miss Amanda, and Mr. Gabe were the best part of Kid's Kingdom, and every single one of them are no longer there - there's a reason for that. The new teacher's are teaching children details of child birth, what it feels like and what can happen during the process (details a child can't make up on their own - like "some moms poop while pushing"). The teacher's have been telling the children, "You are a horrible, bad kid." "You are mean and not a good kid." "You are a liar." "Nobody likes you." "Nobody wants to be your friend." Some of teachers are taking videos of kids throwing tantrums and turning them into memes and posting on social media (yes, i've seen them and reported them.) The teacher's stopped teaching. We went from having daily lessons, crafts, and activities to bringing home 1 coloring page a week. The teacher's never put their phones down - drive by on the side, you can see them - sitting outside on their phones, smoking out back while the kids are on the playground. So many issues and when I reached out to speak to the owner about my concerns, he refused. I was told I could talk to the office, but they are a big part of the problem, so what help is that? When I stressed the urgency of the situations, he still refused 3 times. The day I pulled my children out of Kid's Kingdom, I cried the happiest, most relieved tears for myself and sad tears for the families that didn't know better and were still sending their kids there. I reached out to every family I had contact information for - they have all removed their children. I knew something was wrong, I only wish I would've listened to myself earlier. Please do yourself a favor, keep your babies safe physically and mentally, and DO NOT send your kiddos here! And pass the info along to any one you know that currently attends Kid's Kingdom.

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

When my 3 year old first started there back in 2017, I thought Kids kingdom ELC was the best daycare/preschool in Greenwood IN. for my child, hands down. I believe the teachers set the tone, and is really what makes the daycare special, and Ms. Elizabeth was and still is the best preschool teacher there, in my opinion. After three years passed, things changed. A lot of teachers and staff came and left, management changed, all while still under the same ownership. However, the people are not the only thing that changed, I’ll explain in a minute. Nevertheless, my little girl still attended this preschool as a “school age kid” when schools were not open. I also gave business to this daycare/preschool by being a foster mom, so all of my foster kids would also attend this facility. I noticed the change by 2020, by my personal experiences with new staff and management. Staff were not as friendly, owners were all about business, and didn’t seem to care much about the child(ren), meaning their privacy or safety. My children were of a handful that were “African American”, if not the only black kids that were there. They were called “chocolate chip cookie, and burnt biscuit, and brownie by some of the other kids, they were spit on, kicked, and hit by other kids, and the owner would say “we’ll look into it, or tell your kids to stay away from these such kids!” Unfortunately, my kids would still come home everyday with a story of what someone did or said to them, so I assumed the owner never got around to looking into it.

Well, the last straw was on Wednesday July 8, 2020. I got word that my 6 year old had a meltdown, and her teacher recorded the meltdown using her personal device. Come to find out, every time a kid in the school age class, according to my children, threw a tantrum, the teachers or assistants would video record them on their phones. Why? What are you doing this for? Where would these videos end up? Who gave you permission to video record people’s children while they are at their worst, and using your personal device to do it? Why are you not trying to find out what’s wrong with the child, attempting calming strategies to calm the child down, or redirecting the child’s behavior. Why aren’t you notifying the parent? Well, these are the questions I wanted to ask the owner, and the teacher who video taped my child, but the owner did what he does best, said “I’ll take care or it” and he refused, with me asking multiple times, to meet with me in person to have this discussion, rather he communicated via email “1. he will not meet with me in person, 2. the teacher said she didn’t really video tape my daughter, she was just pretending to, 3. the teacher said she’s sorry and won’t do it again, I WILL MAKE SURE OF IT, 4. however, I (owner) can’t be in every classroom all the time, but I see no need to meet in person to discuss this any further.” So, I had to remove all of my kids from Kids Kingdom ELC of Greenwood IN, because this is no longer a safe environment for my children to attend. What a sad experience!
