We heard about the facility through parents whose child attends here. Now we were warned that they came of a little discriminating and they low key had to beg for their kid acceptance. Nevertheless, my husband and I went with high hopes and was toured through the facility by (Crystal or Krystal)- front desk clerk and was pleased with what we saw. She told us the director was not there but to write our info down and will call before 1 the following day as I asked. While talking to her, we realized she was folding the paper down like it was going in the trash (she probably did throw it away) because I had to call her the following day. She said the director just walked in but stepped out..weird! Called again today and she claimed she called me yesterday (which she didn’t) I answered all my calls and checked my vm just to make sure I wasn’t in denial ... nothing. Ofcourse she said there was no space. Cool.. but I didn’t like how it all happened & now I’m feeling that maybe Crystal is racist or the faculty is but communication should be better and the Coordinator should be more present so that parents can speak professionally with he/she.
My oldest son went here years ago and had a good experience, however, my experience with my 3 year old son in 2011 was not a good one. I believe and also have heard from others that since this school started a Full-Day program, it has become more like a daycare center than a preschool. The teacher that my son had for 3 year old Preschool was good as far her ability to teach the children but she consistently said negative things to me about the "problem children" in her class. She did have a couple of boys who seemed to have major behavioral problems so while I understand her frustration, I feel it was totally inappropriate for her to discuss this with me and to point out those who gave her the most trouble. While my son's behavior was not "bad", he did have some problems with socialization and was very clingy due to having been in "in home" care prior to his enrollment at KKLC. This left me wondering how many times she spoke to other parents about my child and how frustrating his clinginess was. After 4 months, I withdrew my son from KKLC.
Overall, don't feel that this is a well-run program. Have recently enrolled him in Pre-K at another local Methodist church preschool and have already seen a major difference. Very excited about what this year holds for him!
I have to say, I was very disapointed with our experience here. The teacher turnover was very bad and the communication worse. Policies in place are needed but they often conflicted with what medical professionals would say. We ended up leaving when there was a mix up of my child with another. Sadly, I think this place has the potential to being great. When a parent has multiple complaints that are presented in a very tactful way they are still ignored. I did not feel my child or any child was a priority here. I gave it 2 stars as our first three weeks were great as we had an experience teacher who cared!
If you want an environment where you child is loved every second of the day, this is your spot. The teachers have been there since the place opened. They will not only teach and educate your child, they will hug and love them as well as instill the believes of good positive behaviors. My child is in a pre-k with 8 children that have been with him since he was two. There is no daycare in Gwinnett that can provide this great of care and can compare to KKLC!!!!!!
